Read this before buying other options
My garage door stopping closing when the outside temps got colder, so research led me to replacing the sensors. I checked the opener's manufacturing date, and it was 2005, so I then checked reviews for that version of the sensors and didn't see much difference in ratings or performance for the cheaper generic ones so that is what I first bought.Turns out that the previous homeowner replaced the opener in 2005 but reused the older pre-1997 sensors! Different size and connection and everything. But when the generic ones arrived, I thought let's try 'em and see. Massive logistics issues - no way to mount the new sensor brackets at 6 inches or lower due to 8" concrete foundation, and they didn't fit in the older and larger existing brackets which were firmed drilled into said concrete foundation.I got the new ones installed in the new brackets at 10" height above floor but had the receiving sensor on the sunlight side, so I switched them. They never hooked up and the light indicating power and version was so small and dim that it was a frustrating experience. Next step was to try these sensors designed for this 2005 opener. Best decision ever. These Chamberlain sensors (our opener is a Liftmaster) are smaller than the generic ones but were much easier to install on the newer brackets that came with them, and much easier to align. Having 24" of wiring instead of 16" helped in that regard. But the two keys for me were the fact that the receiving sensor (green light) was clearly labeled, and once installed those larger brighter colored lights were a Godsend in a dark garage. These are well worth the extra money compared to the cheaper generic ones, and if you are a DIY type who gets easily frustrated then you definitely need these.

Works well for 2004 Chamberlain opener
Installs onto existing wire. Will require wire strippers for the install. Package provides 4 (+1 extra) crimp connectors for making the connection between the new sensors and the old cables. Old sensors were having some issues (backing up when nothing was there, not stopping when something was actually blocking the sensor). These seem to be more sensitive and accurate than the older sensors. I did not bother changing the mounting hardware and used the existing ones on the track. New LED indicators are much brighter and larger.

Good Replacement, Probably OEM
Our garage door opener was acting up, yet everything checked out okay. No matter what I adjusted, including the photo-sensors, sometimes it would not close. After exhaustive testing, the only thing it could be was the photo-sensors, although their little yellow and green lights appeared to function. With nothing else it cold be, I bought these replacements. They arrived quickly and installed exactly as the old ones. The garage door now works properly every time! I can only conclude that the old sensors were on the verge of not working.Okay, 3 or 4-stars should be average, which these are. But, because of the low price, I'm bumping them up to five.Hot tip: if your garage door sensors are going bad, but not burnt out, you can't just remove them and go without. The garage door opener insists on these being connected or it won't work. Until the replacements arrived, I taped the two old ones touching and facing each other on a strip of wood, then placing them atop the opener, I wired them in. So, the door worked fine. For safety sake, I backed off on the sensor that controls the down force to the point where even a soft item would reverse the garage door on impact.
