Really good size and easy to refill
This is a better size than I expected, it is very easy to refill and the lid does a very good job of keeping the bird seed dry when it’s raining.Birds were cautious initially, though after a few hours were happily eating the seeds, the added bonus is that the smaller birds can flit in and out of the feeder easily where as the starlings and pigeons struggle a bit more.

Birds like it.
Didn't have to put it together, as yet no visits from squirrels that have seen. It's sturdy and the finches have no problems going in cage. The lid fits okay but there is a gap at one side as if its twisted, but rain doesn't get in. Not cleaned it yet so no comment. It's worth the money compared with much dearer ones. Would buy another if needed.

Does it stop pigeons? No, no, no. IT DOESN’T!
For the last few years my little birds happily fed from two window feeders with joyous abandon….until a group of pigeons started frightening them off and hoovering up all the seed. The pigeons are like terminator and Sarah Conner is the food.Although the pigeons still eat from this feeder it’s a lot less frequent and they don’t eat as much. My little birds have learnt how to use the feeder and the pigeons not being there for 15 hours a day means they can get food too. However, I have the feeder next to my window ledge sort of wedged in place so it’s sturdy when the pigeons slip off the lid and grab it. If I had this feeder hanging I suspect the pigeons would hold it, flap their wings and shake the contents onto the ground. If the pigeons start to eat more a fix would be to block off the cage openings directly in front of the feeding holes, making it difficult for bigger birds to reach the seed. A few cable ties would suffice (not leaving any sharp edges). Don’t use yarn, string or wool as birds can get tangled in it.I’ll update this review if the pigeons tire of the feeder.*Update* The pigeons didn’t give up so I’ll do the cable tie fix this weekend.*Update #2* The pigeons win. They’re literally unstoppable. The little birds are still using the feeder though.*Update #3”Absolutely NOT pigeon proof…..I fill up the feeder and the &£#*% finish the whole tube in less than 2 hours. They loiter when there’s a few seeds left in the bottom so they keep away the little birds. Waste of money, don’t even bother.

Stops squirrels wrecking the feeder and nicking all the bird food!
Was fairly robust for the price and so far has defeated the pesky critters!

Excellent Green Jem Dorne Caged Seed Wild Bird Feeder
I have always been passionate about bird species and I wanted to help to maintain and enhance bird species in the UK which have been on a worrying decline recently due to pesticides, deforestation and the destruction of their habitats not only in the Midlands but throughout the UK. I remember when I was younger, the gardens full of different types of birds but now, it scares me to think that I don't see these anymore so I purchased a bird feeder which I hope will help them come back. Excellent to order and the bird feeder arrives in a matter of days. I would recommend this seller to anyone and everyone who wants to see the bird numbers increase and to flourish again. If not, it doesn't bare thinking about.

Okay - but lid will allow water in
It's unlikely that any feeder will be squirrel-proof - apart from the spinning ones. And I think these are unfair - they don't give the squirrels a fighting chance!Just received this caged feeder - it's well made and robust.Yes, the smaller squirrels will get in through the large mesh. But most won't and the larger birds (pigeons, jackdaws, etc) will be deterred. (I will post a down-the-road feedback). The main drawback is the lid. It is not weatherproof. Rain will get in because the lid is badly made.
