The TLDR review: Worked as intended. Fast and easy swap. Came with the tools needed. Well priced.The long version: I bought a secondhand Wii that would start games but would implode the moment it needed to make an effort to read the discs. I would hear odd clicks then get a disc read error message telling me to eject the disc, turn off the power, and consult the Wii manual. Tried several different discs with the same issue. When looking into the issue, all fingers pointed out to the disc drive.I ordered this part, looked up a YouTube tutorial, and had mine working again in about 15 minutes. Plays games with no issues now.The only reason I’m writing this long version is because I almost did not order this. I found a similar review where someone described the exact same problems and sequence of events (clicks, read error, etc) and then stated that this replacement part didn’t work for them. I don’t know if it was a user error, a faulty component, damaged during transport, etc, but I decided to roll the dice and it worked out for me.So I’m my opinion, if you’re experiencing similar problems, then this is worth a shot. It beats finding a niche electronics repair shop that will charge you an arm and leg to repair nearly 20 year old tech. The worst that could happen is that this doesn’t work for you and you return it, or you request a replacement from the seller to give it a second shot.

This had free overnight shipping, and worked perfectly. It came with a Nintendo security screwdriver, which you NEED if you don't already have one. There's guides online on how to replace the disc drive if you don't know how. It's time consuming because there's a lot of screws, but the disc drive is basically plug and play.

Our Wii wouldn't read discs. Did some research and discovered that likely my disc drive had come to the end of its time. Found this on Amazon, ordered it, found some instructions online on how to install and now our Wii works flawlessly.

Wii bit the dust about 6 months ago and this was something I didn't think I could fix. Can't believe I fixed it AND for only $26. It's compatible, doesn't make any weird noise, the quality seems legit and ease of installation was great if you pull up the youtube video on it. This has been the best value for money product I've bought in a while. Thank you!

Worked like a charm using the tools they sent, though I would suggest having a magnetic tip screw driver handy because you will need it to put in two of the hard drive screws.There are no instructions but I used the 1st video I came across on YouTube and got it done. I touched the blue part of the foil cable or and got oils from my fingers on it and it made the image bad, so I had to take it apart a second time to clean and that resolved the issue. Cost effective way to salvage our Wii.

The drive was easy to install but I used my own tools. I would like to say it worked great and was a good value. However it stopped reading disks after only 7 months.

The original disc drive failed in my Wii so I purchased this kit to replace it. The disc drive fit perfectly and was inexpensive. It is also far quieter than the original was towards the end of its life and works well. My only complaint is with the included tools. They were not compatible with some of the screws that they claimed they were and even stripped a couple of the screws. I had to buy a separate set of screwdrivers for the Wii to do the job.
