Nice color, better options than the major retailers I wanted a darker color that wasn’t so much orange-ish these are pictures from a double coat, pictures include back label from the 1 gallon container! The stain will wash off with water and soap, clean up was pretty easy.

I have used this stain on my western red cedar home since 2015. It is the ONLY stain that prevents the black mold and mildew my home previously got every two years when using numerous other brands of oil based stains. If you prepare the wood properly and follow the application instructions for the Defy stain, I believe you will be very impressed with the results. My cedar is vertical and has been on the house since 2000. After using other products for years, I discovered Defy in 2015. We used it on the entire 3 story house and 2 story garage. I finally had the stain re-done in fall 2024. This is the ONLY product that didn’t cause the wood to get the black mold and mildew after it wore off. All we needed to do was a quick wash (very low/practically no pressure) then a quick light sanding and applied the stain. I HIGHLY recommend this stain. I have also used it on my pressure treated decking.

Love love love this stain. It is a little more money than the others but we’ll worth it. The color is so rich with just one coat. The more coats the deeper the color gets. I rolled mine on but you can also use a brush.This product is worth the extra money and I researched all the other brands but Defy fit my job much better.This was my first winter and the decks looks just like I left it last summer.

Looks good with one coat, may need a second, time will tell. Color was good.

This is a premium stain. It is semi-transparent but very rich color and the nano zinc particles protect from our Arizona desert sun.

This product is really bad. I applied this to my deck in October 2024. By January it was shedding a latex like material that was the main color too. The strips of latex were everywhere. For months now I’ve been getting them out of my hot tub as well. I had a hard time applying this too because of the latex component. Had to brush it extensively to make it smooth and uniform. Apparently the latex material was a very bad additive to what used to be a good product. It did not penetrate the decking at all. I won’t be buying this again.Maybe the original formula is still available. It didn’t have a lot of tint in it but it didn’t flake off like this Ultra does. Whoever thought up this new formula ruined a good product.

I researched for a week and ended up using this product after many positive reviews. Wanted to share so that others can feel confident in using the product. Took a while to prepare with striping the deck and brightening it but don’t skip these steps. The prep is the most important part. I love the light walnut has a light brown/ slightly orange hue to it . I used 1 coat but if you have high traffic areas 2 coats maybe works better. The color gets a bit darker and richer with 2 coats. Buy the defy car wash brush for the floor part, it’s so worth it, goes on easily , smooth, and fast.Don’t put it on in direct sun and you won’t have any issues with it drying too fast or darker spots for going over it a few times. Love the color and product and looks like a new deck. I used 5 bottles for about 750 sq feet. ( 2 decks and staircase ). I just hope it lasts as long as they say.
