We had between 0 (the SOS icon on iPhone) and one bar at our small retirement home here in central Florida. To get decent signal, even for text messaging, we had to go to the middle of our street, where it would sometimes work. We had talked with neighbors and one of them had purchased something through AT&T but said they were very disappointed. After reading through several reviews we decided to purchase the Sidekick. This was our experience:1. Everything was packed very professionally, all the components were described well in the instructions, and nothing was missing.2. We followed step by step through the process of getting things installed correctly, the most important being the outside antenna and ensuring that we had things 'pointed' in the right direction.3. The inside and outside cables were plenty long enough to effectively place the outside antenna in the best location and to install the booster in a central location in the house.4. One thing we really liked was the separate 12" micro cable that allowed us to put cabling through the window and still be able to shut the window. Since this cable is designed for a closed window there isn't any kinking or other issues. Nice attention to detail by the manufacturer.5. We followed all the instructions to optimize placement and less than 10 minutes after we started I was in my home office enjoying a full four bars.6. That evening Liam, one of the technicians at HiBoost, reached out to me to make sure everything was working well. I relayed to him that we were very pleased and my wife and I were finally enjoying simultaneous video streaming with no interruptions. He asked for a few screenshots of the final numbers and agreed that we were set up very well.7. What made this very timely for us was that our internet went out for the past 3 days, and my wife and I are both tethering to our phone hotspots from our computers and enjoying a fast 5Ge connection.8. We're very pleased with our device, no more missed or dropped calls and a nice backup for us when our internet goes out here in our community.9. For us the value is great, signal strength is always 3-4 bars, and no issue. Highly recommend this product and this company!

First things first: the Sidekick unit does indeed boost my Verizon cell signal quite a bit, and did so right out of the box, no setup required (other than mounting the antenna and running cables). There is at least a 5x increase in speeds, and that will likely rise once I install the antenna near my roof on the second floor. Normally, my signal downstairs is atrocious due to the layout of my house and the location of the house next door, but the Verizon cell tower is only about 3/4 mile away, so the signal is very strong from the second floor.The one issue I had was that I was unable to connect the SignalAdvisor app to the Sidekick unit via Bluetooth or wifi, and the icons for those services never lit up on the LCD screen. That was concerning, so I first emailed their tech support address but never received a response. A few days later, I left a message through their website chat system. Someone did respond, but not immediately, so it wasn't a realtime conversation. Finally, 9 days after my initial email, I called their tech support number and left a voicemail, then I left a message through their FaceBook page. Noah responded to me via FaceBook within a few minutes, then texted me on my phone. He walked me through a few steps to confirm the Bluetooth problem, then indicated he would send a replacement base unit to me.Assuming the new base unit allows me to connect via Bluetooth, I'll be a happy customer. I wish I'd called their support line and/or left a message on their Facebook page originally, but I'm glad I finally got an (apparent) resolution to the problem. In any case, the most important thing is that the core functionality of the unit does indeed work, which is awesome. It's one of the less expensive boosters on the market from a reputable company, and I love the sleekness of the unit.

This works great.I'm in an area where I got less than one bar on my phone, to top that off the cellular company updated the tower I was managing to get o signal from and my phone was spending it's entire battery life trying to find a signal.I installed this with no help from the manufacturer, instructions were okay, could have been a better explanation of what exactly I was looking at but I got the general idea.I am now able to get between 2 1/2 to 4 bars. No more searching for a signal.The only downside I have found is for some reason my data connection is not improved. It says 5G but I only get between 2 to 5 mg data. Also, for some reason the app keeps forgetting who I am and I have to log back in (despite selecting the remember me option).So, overall I am very happy with my purchase.( Edit: I should mention that the reason I’m not upset about no improvement in the data rate is I’m on WIFI and don’t need the data at home anyway. )UPDATE: after 8 months this unit is continuing to keep my connection strong. I am very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend this to anyone living in a poor reception area.

I wanted this booster because I don't have the greatest call reception at my home. I researched and determined that this was the best option for me. It works great and the app and guidebook are amazing. It's pretty foolproof and hard to mess it up. I had a question along the way and Noah from Customer Service was amazing! He responded and was available almost immediately And stayed with me until everything was figured out. The issue was not the item but the placement of our booster within the home. I highly recommend this booster for anyone who is sick and tired of losing calls as a result of inconsistent cell service.
