Wouldnt be without it
Great for making Curries - who has time to pound garlic and ginger in a pestle and mortar? The chopper is brillianT and the grinder equally good. We've had ours 5 years and still going strong

Lasted 4 years, great tool, but cost me 20£ then
Sadly stopped working after 4 years of daily use - I checked my order, i Bought mine for just over 20£ in 2017 here on amazon - 4 years of frequent use is not bad i guess nowadays!! We certainly use one or the other (chopper or grinder) at least once a day.We love this because the interior of the tub is almost entirely made from stainless steel so there is no risk of minute plastic chards coming off during use.The grinder's connection with the spinning element has given out, I believe its moisture that ruined it as it looks a little like aluminium corroded by water.Well, I hate waste so I Will try and buy replacement parts if I can.I recommend this device and I especially recommend that you never leave moisture underneath or in the spinning element, if you can avoid it.This now looks like it sells at 56£?? So I'm giving it a 3* only for the cost : value ratio. At 20£ it was a good investment though:)

Impressive! (Update: Excellent after sales service.)
I find this grinder/chopper to be excellent - beyond my expectations:- Robust design with a powerful motor- Simple and very quick to assemble and use (i.e. seconds)- Incredibly quick grinding and chopping (again, 1 or 2 seconds)- Simple and quick to clean - no more hassle than cleaning a chef's knife. To assemble, use and clean can be accomplished in under thirty seconds.I always learn manual techniques before considering any appliance, and therefore I have very few appliances. When learning a new technique, I limit myself to no more than a chef's knife, my hands, and typical items found in the average kitchen. I usually find that manual methods are quicker than using appliances. I also like to be able to cook in any environment, i.e. any kitchen, on board yachts, camping, etc.I only explain myself to emphasize that for an appliance to impress me, it really has to be great.I also bought this grinder/chopper as "used" from the amazon warehouse, and it is in perfect condition minus the original box, which I really don't care about. In fact I would prefer it if everything was supplied this way so I don't have to dispose of packing materials.UPDATE: Motor stopped, perhaps since I use it every day? Anyway, after sales service was excellent. Fast and friendly, and I'm busily chopping and grinding again!

Excellent grinder, can’t really fault it!
Bought this after my previous James Martin/Wahl mini grinder gave up on me after many years of service. Had been very happy with that one, but was intrigued by this one’s chopper and grinder attachments, so was willing to spend a bit more and branch out! It is VERY powerful, you can do dry spices in what feels like a nanosecond (even small quantities) and things like curry pastes barely take a press of the lid.. this is a much better design than my previous one where the button would jam. It’s so powerful that whatever you grind/chop gets propelled up into the lid, so I suggest having a little silicone spatula or something to scrape the contents out so you don’t lose any! It’s much easier to clean due to these separate parts, which is great when you’re working with pungent ingredients and you don’t want smells lingering in the grinder! Having said that, I bought a “Save with used” one as I wasn’t sure how I’d get on with it and thought I’d save money where I could (plus it’s more sustainable, if you’re into that!) It turned up smelling of cinnamon which was a bit off-putting as I believe the description said something like “new - damaged box” when it had obviously been used, but I gave the attachments a good clean and persevered! This did make me wonder if someone tried to grind whole cinnamon sticks and didn’t have any luck so they returned it? I’ve yet to try this, but I imagine breaking these into smaller pieces first would help! My only other gripe is the cord is a bit askew and I struggle to wind this fully into the base of the machine to put away for storage, but this is hardly a deal-breaker! Very happy so far - we’ll see if it lasts as long as my previous one!

Had to return
I had one before. Worked brilliantly so purchased another after it broke down after continuous use over couple of years.Sadly, I had to return the new one. The grinder worked perfectly. But, the chopper did not. It left little pieces of food unchopped no matter how much amount I put into it or how many times I pushed the lid to chop it.Luckily I got a refund.

Perfect for the price.
Cheap enough, so use it like you stole it I say!It is not perfect and it is certainly not a blender so stick to dry ingredients for faultless use I would suggest. It will chop 100g of mixed nuts into dust in 3-4 seconds.Grinding small quantities of herbs and spices? They tend to fly up in the cup and well away from the blades. I tried pumping on and off to allow them to drop back down and repeated, worked but tedious.Tried inserting a plastic pot to fill the space, worked better, but not much. Now I simply hold it like a cocktail shaker and this works a treat as the herbs get forced back into the blades as I shake the device a few times. The cup and blades don't seem to dismantle for cleaning (even after I removed the screws) but a serious dunk and scrub and dry out somewhere warm does the trick - I don't run the dishwasher after I have used it, so not an option for me.
