The best oil finish for any wood
Tung oil is non-toxic and makes a beautiful finish to any wood. I have used it on all my hardwood furniture, pine doors, wooden kitchen utensils. It does get absorbed by the wood as oil but then it dries and hardens leaving a really durable finish. It's important to wipe off any excess oil after 20 minutes as excess oil leaves a tacky unpleasant surface. You want to be building many fine layers. And it's good to dilute the first coats as per the instructions and sand with ultra fine sandpaper/wool between coats. Easy to use, with excellent results. For me it's unquestionably the best finish for wood.

Good Quality and cheapest place to buy
I use this on my oak worktops. It brings out the grain in the wood and makes it waterproof. As it is a natural oil it is also safe for food. I hvae compared the prices of all local shops and Amazon is by far the cheapest place to buy this.

Good protection, slow to apply
We have recently bought a house with wooden worktops which, while attractive, are a bit more maintenance than synthetic hard materials or granite etc.We were recommended tung oil to use for protecting the surfaces because it's non-toxic, natural and easy to apply. The application itself does not take long. The Liberon container has clear instructions, though it does not make clear the difference between applying for the first time and reapplying. For example, the first application should be diluted and will need multiple coats. When reapplying, fewer coats are needed and the oil can be applied undiluted. The reason I give 4 stars rather than 5 is the process of coating, wiping down excess, standing and then reapplying is a long one. During this time you can't really use the work surface. There's definitely a market for oils that take quicker to a surface than this.Still, overall it does the job and is safe to use around food.

A little goes a long way
I watched a review on You Tube where a test was done amongst various food safe oils. Tung Oil came out on top. To be honest, I have been using mineral oil (or Danish Oil) for my chopping boards. So this was a bit of an experiment. As per the picture, it gives a lovely satin finish. Unlike mineral oil, it dries completely to an incredibly smooth finish. I am a convert although to be fair, I have no personal experience just now of how it will stand up to use.I have since used it on other projects and the results have been similarly excellent.Liberon are my 'go-to' for finishes. So when I saw they did a pure Tung Oil, it was an easy choice.Hope that is helpful.

Does the job brilliantly
Good price. I have used this on an oak kitchen worktop. Although I still need to do a top up, it has brought the wood out in a lovely colour and finish and has remained impervious to water even in the area behind the taps which constantly gets splashed.Really pleased that I bought this and treated the worktop myself as I got the wood at a very cheap price and now it looks as good as the very expensive worktops I saw in kitchen showrooms. Easy to apply and any smell disappeared soon afterwards.

Expensive for what it is
Used to weather proof some bee hives, did a good job but expensive for what it is

I love tung oil as a natural wood preservative
The wood did discolorbeing outdoors, but it was worth shipping this product to Western Africa where I was unaware of where I could find it here

Great for protecting wood countertops
Used this on butcher block countertop. Applied 7 coats. The 1st couple coats were diluted with citrus solvent. It did give the wood a yellowish tint but I am very happy with the results. We have spilled coffee, tea, spaghetti sauce, etc on it. Not a single stain. I would definitely recommend this for wood countertops.
