My mom tried to hate this thing, because she hates all of my ideas. I bought her an adjustable bed, and of course she immediately hated that. She wanted a hospital bed- too bad, too expensive. To prove to me how unsatisfactory the new adjustable bed was, whenever she got out of it I would grunting like she fell into a crevasse on Mt. Everest and was hanging on by her fingernails. So I decided to take a chance on this gadget, which has a light that pops on and off via magnet, that’s rechargeable. And a handy pocket for her remote controls (Amazon and Sony, if you must know). When this thing came in the mail, I expected it to be a bust. I wasn’t sure if I could make it work with an adjustable bed, even though I looked high and low in all of the reviews to see if anyone had any luck installing it. I can’t be the first person to wonder about this! The instructions sort of warned that the rail isn’t to be used for adjustable beds, mainly because they’re all different, and the strap could interfere with the bed mechanism. I had to get down on my back to fish the strap through a safe place that wouldn’t interfere with the raising and lowering of the bed. But it wasn’t that hard! Now she loves the rail, and I never hear all of that noise about needing a hospital bed. Just that the little light battery needs to be charged, and where’s the charger cable. I just use a micro USB from who knows what I had kicking around. I finally taped the wire to the desk next to her bed so she can always find it. It has a red light on it when you plug it in, showing you it’s dead. Then it turns blue when it’s finally charged. Then it snaps back into its slot on the bed rail, with a magnet. Voila, whenever she gets up in the middle of the night the light flips on! She loves the thing now. I hope this helps some poor soul whose mother is impossible to please.

This is absolutely wonderful, just wish I had found it earlier. I can now get out of bed so much easier, the light comes on to help see where I am going. The bag attached is excellent for my glasses, phone etc. Also easily put together and in place in minutes. Now look forward to getting up.

Ordered for my Mom who now has trouble getting in and out of bed. She is in love with it. The motion light really helps when she gets up during the night, and is easy to charge. We installed it for her as directed, and we watched the video first, which helped. As it anchors under her box spring to her actual bed frame, it was helpful to have my husband help me install it.

This was easy to assemble. I was not expecting the strap for the railing, but it was certainly needed to ensure stability. My husband is finding it easier to swing and and out of bed. He now has something to hold on to and support him.We use the bag for a few items, such as creams etc. so they don't clutter his nightstand.I had problem with the light staying in place. It keeps falling on the floor. It has two-sided tape and a magnet. I may have put the tape on the light instead of in the holder. I then got some tape and doubled it up and put it on the backside and it is doing fine.

I ordered this for same day delivery while my mother was in the hospital having hip replacement surgery. It was very easy to assemble and install, even by myself. The hardest part was getting the strap under the mattress, as the mattress is very thick and heavy. You might need two people to install it depending on the weight of your mattress.Despite the thickness of the mattress, the height of the handle works well. My mom was so happy when I surprised her with it. She’s been using it now for about two weeks, and it has been so helpful. She says she wishes she’d gotten it a couple of years sooner.The light is a nice extra for emergencies when the power goes out, but otherwise my mom has decided to turn it off. She has a nightlight just outside her room which he prefers, and her dog moving around in the night was setting off the light on the handrail.I highly recommend this bed rail. It functions well, its appearance is unobtrusive and it is easy to install.
