Danodia Foods Finger Millet Flour
This review is for the Danodia Foods finger millet flour. This product is advertised as 1 kg flour, but the actual weight is NOT 1 kg, but 950g (as printed on the package and also based on my weighing on a kitchen scale). So, the 950g weight is unusual in that it is less than advertised and also different from how food products are normally sold. This flour is finely ground, and tastes fresh, with no hint of rancidity. The color appears lighter than is typical for finger millet flour. It is a product of India, and has almost a 1.5 year shelf life from the date of receipt. The included recipe on the package provides only the bare-minimum directions for cooking. So, if you are new to cooking with this flour, it may be beneficial to look up some well-reviewed Indian recipes online to ensure success with this flour in cooking.Being whole grain, it will benefit from being stored in an airtight container in a cool place.

Great Gateway To New Recipes
Millet flour is a wonderful gluten-free alternative, but it’s important to understand that it does not behave like wheat flour. It has a distinctive, slightly nutty flavor and is gluten-free, making it best suited for recipes specifically designed for it. Fortunately, millet is a staple grain in many cultures, so there’s no shortage of delicious traditional recipes to explore. As for this particular bag, the flour arrived fresh with a consistent grind. I used mine to make khichu, a savory Indian dish, and it turned out beautifully.

Great Flavor Finger Millet Makes Fantastic Banana Bread
I made finger millet walnut banana bread using fresh vanilla beans and it was out of this world delicious. As a gluten free vegan millet flour is one of my favorites. Though I never had one labeled as finger millet so this was a treat for me to use and I appreciate trying it out as I will totally be getting more when I run out as I like it a lot. I only used one cup millet and one cup oat flour together and this was wonderful mixed with oat flour. I would highly recommend, it made a nice vegan gluten free banana bread. I am going to make tons of muffins with the rest using different dried fruits, nuts and seeds and freeze for quick breakfast. Thank you!

Great quality ragi flower for soft, puffed rotis
This is fresh, finely ground ragi flour with that classic nutty flavor you’d expect from good-quality finger millet. I just made a quick batch of roti with it and it works beautifully for roti! It puffs up nicely and stays soft, not dense or gritty like some other brands. Also would be great for porridge, dosa, or adding to baked goods like homemade bread loaves to boost the calcium, iron, and fiber content. If you're looking for organic, high-quality finger millet (ragi) flour, this one’s a tasty choice that works well.

2.2 pounds of flour, fresh millet with no additives
The white area on the millet in my picture is just from my camera’sflash. The millet is consistent and uncontaminated. It’s very finely ground. The flour is fresh and wholesome. It contains 336 calories per 100 grams of flour. It’s made in India. I appreciate that it’s 100% millet with no unnecessary additives. The expiration date is more than a year in the future. It’s nice that the manufacturer includes a recipe on the back of the bag. The flour was very well sealed by the manufacturer and double bagged. The inner pouch feels like kraft paper. It’s easy to open and is resealable. It contains 2.2 pounds of flour.
