I used to use spatulas for my smash burgers, but they would bend and make the burgers uneven. This press makes it easy for even smashing. Pro tip: thinly slice and heavily salt onions then place them in the fridge for a few hours before making your burgers. Then drain them and place a small pile on each burger before smashing.

This one looks flimsy compared to the other Blackstone made presses, but it is a solid unit... Further, it's the one you want. The flat surface allows for actual smash burgers -- other versions of this have a recess to them and you can't get it as thin as it should be.

This press works great for me. I have a rectangular press and another round press but the round one has a ridge around it so you can't really press as flat as you may want to. Works great and well made, it should last for many years.
