Usually, my snobby parakeets take a long time to warm up to toys, but they went right for this one and began shredding it. I believe it was a good value for the money, I like the neutral color as a lot of bird shred toys are obnoxiously died. It was a little bit big for my parakeets, but they are really going to town on it and they chew on it every day. It is holding up pretty well and I know that it eventually it will be shredded, because that is what is designed to do, but I am pleased with how it’s holding up so far. There was no smell when I opened the package, and none of the pieces crumpled, as I was trying to get it out of the plastic. It has a good hanging apparatus, that likely can be saved if you wanna DIY another shred toy of some sort.

I think its okay. Smelled musky and dusty, but washed it.
Smelled Musky and moldy. look amd smell. Washed and dried it to make sure. My budgie loves this toy. I hope it's okay, maybe the grass smells weird?

Parakeets love it
My budgies are pretty wary of new items in their cage, but they took to this one really quickly. I see them chewing on it every day. As others have noted, there is no wooden stick/perch at the bottom of it, so it loses a star for that, but otherwise, it's great.

One of their favorites
I don’t normally leave reviews but this item is one of my parakeets favorite. They spend a lot of time each day pulling it apart and they are in heaven when they succeed in ripping a twig out rolling it in their mouths playing with it. I am watching them now crawling all over it.

Lasts a long time and Finches love it!!!
I have 3 Finches and they absolutely love this! This is the second one I've bought in exactly one years time. All of the dried grass-like product is eventually taken out and you're left with everything else tied together. You can even add other things in it's place. So, now I've simply added this new one. GREAT PRODUCT!!!

Give your birds time to adjust to something new!
My finches are Leary of anything new in their cage but after a few days they are playing and tugging on it for their nest!
