Good for adults
This turned out to be a fun game (I guess because I was the winner). It is more complicated than you think, as each hand is played differently.

One of the better "games with a judge"
Great game, brings out cleverness and a lot of aha moments (and a lot of laughs with the right group). Love the simple scoring rule where you can give a favorite answer more than 1 point. More accessible than Why Did the Chicken (another favorite of ours). Both these games are in that "games with a judge" category, that Apples to Apples popularized, but they encourage a lot more creativity.

So much fun
Smug Owls Card Game - A Hilarious & Creative Riddle-Solving Party Game for Kids and Adults | Fun for The Whole Family | 8+ | 15-20 min | 3-15 PlayersSmug Owls is a riddle making word game where points are awarded for having the best answers for the riddles. Each riddle is a sentence created with five cards. Every riddle begins with the word card that says “What,” and ends with a card featuring a question mark. The middle card is a conjunction and the second and the fourth contain a variety of verbs and other words that create a complete question. The middle three cards are completely random. Do they all make sense and have logical answers? Not at all, and that adds to the fun. You might end up with a riddle such as, “What is thirsty and sometimes moves?” Another possibility is, “What rolls then is loud?” With 17 conjunction cards and 89 cards that represent possibilities for completing the question, there are endless riddles to create. There are also blank cards for writing and adding your own ideas. The cards are fairly thick and durable with a laminated looking surface. Adorable cartoon owls adorn the tops of each card.We played last night and had so much fun! With a mixed age group, including one under the recommended age of 8+, we did away with the competitive version and played the alternate variation where answers are given for fun. Rather than worrying about giving the best answer, it seemed like we were going for the funniest ones. In the primary version, one person listens to all the responses and chooses the best one for that round. To me, that seems just too subjective and places too much pressure on the person who is judging. I prefer the alternate version that we played. Either way, if you are looking for a game that is guaranteed to be the source of endless laughs and lots of fun, I recommend this one.

Fun game, makes you think
The game comes with rules for several variations, including one where you don't keep score. We love playing cooperatively, just for the fun of it, and this game is perfect for that. We had so much fun coming up with answers to all the riddles, that we went thru the whole deck and never got tired of it! Shuffle the cards, and you'll get completely different riddles! We look forward to the next time we play. This is now one of our favorite games! Highly recommended.

A fun game that will make you laugh
We were introduced to this game by family and had a lark playing it. It calls on the players to be inventive and funny. We subsequently bought a copy for ourselves and played it with friends. It was just as much fun the second time around. If there is any downside is that the scoring is left up to someone who is designated "the smug owl," so that can lead to some prejudicial scores. As long as you can laugh at that, and most people can, you'll be fine and have a fun evening.
