The listing description for this item indicates that it can be used as-is, or with the addition of an essential oil or other liquid topical product.But the case doesn’t seal closed tightly enough to securely hold any liquid, it’s just not a secure closure.Otherwise it’s fine as-is, to use as an ice-roller.

The plastic case doesn’t stay locked and the ball kept falling out so I returned it. Disappointed with the quality.
