Fantastic for the price
This turns an older case with no good amount of 2.5" drive bays, but has a couple of older 5.25" bays designed for CD ROMs to a case fully capable of hold 8 or 16 SSDs with no trouble. Plus you no longer need one power connector per drive which is challenging for a standard power supply without buying cable extensions, suddenly I can power 8 drives off of only two connectors. And combined with a second hand raid card, you can do a fully stacked raid array in an older or cheaper case with ease.Well worth the money, I will be buying more of these bad boys when I make a NAS down the line. Also, another review I think mentioned an issue about clearance with the screws? No idea where that came from, the included screws have very flat low profile heads and are countersunk such as to be flat with the surface. Zero clearances issues at all.The only minor complaint I can think off is that there is very little clearance between the edge of the fan housings, and the plugs for the power connectors, so getting the power cables plugged in especially on those cables that have multiple connectors in series is a very tight fit. I loosened the screws on the fans as once they are loose there is some lateral play in the movement that allowed plugging in the power, and then you can re-tighten the screws in the new slightly adjusted position.Overall 9.5/10.

Perfect fit
Perfect Fit for the unused 5 1/4 inch bay. allows me to have easily swap-able 2.5 inch drives without opening the case.

Great device but not smooth inserting and removing drives
I really like the drive bay. It was easy to set up and it works great. My only problem with it is that the drive trays take a lot of effort to insert and remove. I bought a second unit of a different brand on another site and the drives slide in and out very smoothly. Otherwise I would’ve gave it a five star review.

Bad screws
It seems my reviews keep not making it to this page, like they don't want you to know... 3rd attempt at posting.Mine came with bad screws that would not allow the sleds to slide into the slots. They prevented the drives from going in at all because of the screw head protruding.I bought a couple of different screw kits on my own and finally found one that worked, but even then the fitment was tight and the drives didn't go in at all if you used the pre-drilled mounting holes on the side of the chassis, as the threads of those screws stop drives from sliding in too. I had to back those screws out just enough to allow it to go in, which meant a slightly loose mounting of the chassis itself.Terrible design. Yes it can hold 8 drives. No you can't screw them in out of the box. Also, if you don't know about the side screws thing you may even screw into the side of an SSD when you go to try and mount the cage with drives inside, which could potentially cause damage.I have decided to procure a server that supports 2.5" drives by itself. This has to be the jankiest solution, and I should have just gone a different route from the beginning.I will not be buying any Icy Dock products ever again after this experience.
