ALTRAWomen's Escalante 4 Road Running Shoe

Fantastic walking and or running shoe, great road feel. Perfect fit, with a wide toe box for comfort. Wears very well. This is my second pair. I love everything about this running shoe.

Initial impression is fabulous. This is the most I've spent on a pair of shoes and could immediately tell the quality difference. Nice wide toe box (LOVE) and perfect amount of cushion. I'll update after a full day's wear but after one evening at home definitely happy!

These are the best sneakers I have found! I have arthritis and other painful conditions in my feet and these allows me to do more on my feet. They are airy and very lightweight. The only problem I had was that the shoelaces were not long enough after assisting them to my foot and it was hard to find shoelaces that worked! Also a little pricey.

I love the wide toe box on these shoes. They are very comfortable if you have wide feet. The cushion is good for walking. I wear these to work and they get filthy. I take out the insert and wash them and the shoes on gentle cycle and air dry them. They wash up nicely and hold up well. Washed my current pair twice already.

Absolutely love Altra shoes. Light, breathable, very comfortable and fit my medium/narrow feet. My third pair!!!

They were so comfortable. Unfortunately, this is the second pair that develop a hole in toe area after about 6 months of use

I was SO disappointed when I finally committed to ordering these because when I opened the box, they were a charcoal grey, not even remotely black. Also, I have very narrow feet. I'm used to shoes needing to be tightened way down, and that was not the case with these, which tells me if you have normal or wide feet, these probably won't fit well. I had a previous version of the Altea Escalante shoes for a few years that needed replacement. These ones have a plastic encasement around the lace holes that I'm curious to see how it holds up. The laces are good quality, but need to be longer. They are foot shaped, zero drop, some cushion, not much support, very low traction. Also, the white sole already has a grass stain on it from walking in grass that was not even freshly mowed. I want an actual black pair with black soles like the offer in the men's style.

Love these shoes! Nice roomy toe box. Bought 3 in different colors. Sole wears out kind of fast though is the only downfall.
