Bored and need something to do? Try this. More for adults . No way a child could put together
Really cool item. My son loved it. He is 27. I feel it’s not meant for young children. Lots of Tiny pieces and takes a lot of time to do. More of an adult “toy”

Fantastic build, for experts only
First off I wouldn’t not recommend this for any child below 14 years old as stated. There is a step in the process where you have to hold a spring mechanism while you install it and it’s difficult. Even the official YouTube video struggled to get this step done. With that being said; if you like a challenge this is an awesome build. Quality wood, none of my pieces split upon separation which is hard to say for a lot of all these companies.Wood Trick is also an incredible company that will respond within a business day if you have any questions. Once you build enough of these you’ll understand there is a bit of finesse to place small wood pieces together and starting out some of them will break. That’s OK because you just go on the Wood Trick website and they’ll send you a replacement board for free.I’d rather not admit I broke a few pieces before but Wood Trick sent the entire board I needed and I now have spare parts if anything else decides to age fast.Highly recommended for experienced builders. I’d recommend buying a second or third build at a level 3 or 4 before attempting this build.Good luck to all your builds

Quality wood. Great "smaller" project. Working model that launches foam bolts
This is a brand of wooden puzzle that I haven't heard of before. It's a decent quality model. The laser cuts wood pieces are well done, but look a little bit scorched in some places. It actually makes it look better, I think. It's a fun project to do with the kids, and it's a nice working toy that they can actually play with.It comes with some Nerf-style darts and is a pretty good quality wood. It's got a little holder that works like a revolver carriage. At some point, the bands will break, but they should be easy enough to replace. This would make a nice gift and a good way to spend time doing a fun activity together that doesn't involve staring at a cell phone.Overall, it's a nice model that actually works. It would also look good on a display shelf. Five stars.

Broken before it could be used
This seems like a great idea. Got this for our son for Christmas. He had a hard time putting the pieces together as instructed and one of the small pieces broke, which rendered the whole thing pretty much useless and he didn’t even get to use it once. FYI our son is old enough to know how to build these types of things and has made many before, so it’s not like he was rough or mishandled it. I’m not sure if it was in the design or we got a bum piece or whatever but I wish we could get it replaced and try again.

Just a piece of trash
I really don't like writing bad reviews, but this thing was trash. I love the company, I even built the level 5 R17 train, that was tough, but it worked. Also built the assault rifle and the pistol. Both very successful. This was a level 4 and I couldn't do it. The instructions for this one were much harder to follow, so I missed a piece and had to tear it down, which went well. But when it came to the spiral spring, this thing was a nightmare. Finally figured it out, but when it was assembled and I tested it, the trigger did not work and after about 3 pulls the spiral spring messed up, so I tear it down again and fixed it. They do give you extra parts so if you need to do this you might have an extra, so I used them. Back together, same issue. That spring let go again. So this item went straight in to the dumpster where it belongs.I even told the company about my issues and haven't heard a word from them, this was like 3 weeks ago.So I would say, buy from them, but NOT this one!

A Good Weekend Project
Even though this is an Advanced level, I was able to do this with my 7-year-old. The boltcaster is a fun project to work on. The wood is fine to work with but sometimes has splinters. I deducted one star because once you remove the splinters, the pieces don’t fit perfectly anymore and are a bit loose. The instructions are fairly easy to understand. I would recommend this as a fun project to work with your kids on over a weekend, but be ready to dedicate time and space to it.

This was a lot of fun to put together with the boys.. and they (And I!) learned so much too. I didn't have any problems putting it together.
