Pint sized monster. Compact enough for small spaces. Handy. Very Powerful.
This is an old model of Makita.Launched in 2010 thereabouts.Extremely rugged with metal internals and rubberised externals.Feels solid and reliable.Torque is monstrous.I used it to take off a set of screws fitted on a 35 year old machine that had become jammed with time.I used too much speed and managed to break the first head clean off. With the correct technique, I got the others off clean and nice.I had the seat bolts on my 2002 Honda Activa fastened too tight by mechanic. Needed to unscrew and raise the hood to custom tune the carburettor. The Makita helped me get the jammed bolts off nice and fast.Miss a working light on it. So am using a headlamp.I am using the entire kit of my dead old Bosch PSR 2.4V with this. This machine can be used to drill holes with the standard ¼th inch shank drill bits. This makes this machine very versatile in that with a quick change you can both drill and drive. Superb. It can happily drive 3" screws of M5 and above into solid wood without so much as a hiccup. It will also not twist your wrist when the screw encounters some resistance because the impact driver kicks in and softens the jerk.Very Highly recommended, if you are capable of good trigger control.

Ignore how many days warranty is offered and Buy with confidance
I thought why manufacturer is not offering 12 months warranty? the product might not be that reliable! Albeit i could not find any other trusted product than this one. So i decided to choose this corded impact driver. And i am highly impressed by its working ability.! Makita really maintains Quality in their products! So i bought cercular saw from same manufacturer. And both of the products are very good! i am writing this review after heavyly using these products for more then 5 months! While ingco battery powered impact driver died within two n half months this one is still working hard!

~~DETAILED REVIEW~~ Best suited for DIY / Home Projects / Carpentry
A little introduction about myself:I'd never owned a power tool before although I have used drill guns on multiple occasions, but I have always been passionate about them. I like doing things myself as and when the thought comes to my mind and I love to have all the tools handy; not having to ask others.Delivery time:Amazon delivered the product in two days after I ordered it here and it was a genuine, unopened box piece.Review:Makita was like unknown water to me, including the name. Bosch, Skil, DeWalt, Hitachi, etc. are all commonly known names here in India but Makita? It was not something I heard before (as were my friends from the mechanical engineering background) until I started watching videos on YouTube, of various power drills and their differences. I did more research everyday until I was convinced that it was a superior brand name; better than many brands I had known before.More videos I watched of Makita drills, more I started loving them and rightly so!The challenge for me was to choose between the different types of drills - Hammer drill, Impact drill, Rotary drill, etc. It was clear that I wanted the Impact DRIVER more than the drills because although I'll need a drill gun in order to use the impact driver on concrete and on hard metal surfaces, I could easily borrow it from someone as lot of people own hammer / impact drills but none of those I know own an impact driver!Sure, you could make do with different screw drivers (I own 10 various screw drivers) but have you used an Impact driver before? It grows on you and you'd not want to go back to using a manual screw driver again! There have been plenty of times when the thought of using a manual screw driver simply made me give up on something I'd want to do because it wasn't easy.I'll write here what the pictures which I have shared do not talk.PROs:1. Light weight2. Ergonomic design3. Beautiful color combination4. Lengthy, high quality, and tangle-proof power cord. The rubberized surface is elastic in nature. If you want a longer power cord, connect separate wires of the required length to the plug leads, insulate them well with a good quality insulation tape, and there you have it!5. Has enough torque to drive screws that are a few inches long and as big as M10 (Dia.) in to soft materials wood / some metal sheets. The reverse function helps you remove the screws with ease from almost anything you can lay your eyes on, depending on their sizes. Better torque than the basic model of the Makita cordless impact driver (12 V).6. Can also be used as wrench using appropriate attachments (bits) to work with hexagonal bolts.7. Does not hog on electricity8. Variable speed trigger9. Spring controlled, retractable, auto-chuck which is the simplest to use!10. Heat vents are cut out in the rear end of the driver instead of on the sides (like in hair dryers)11. Can work with any screw types as long as you can find the right bits for the same12. The white, round, rubber material behind the chuck is fluorescent! (yes, it glows in the dark)13. Gives great finished results14. Motivates you to do more15. Makes you one of the very few people other than carpenters who own an Impact driver16. Gives you a sense of relief from having to go through the hassles of using a manual screw driver where things would have happened way faster and easily than you having to sweat profusely to screw / unscrew the same thing taking 100% more time, making you inefficient and shabby worker if at all you succeeded with screw drivers.CONs:1. Chuck size is quite restricting (maximum M10). Perhaps this has to do with its low torque as compared with the higher torque impact drivers which are better designed to handle bigger and longer screws.2. You get only one Philips PH2 star screwdriver bit in the box - different size on either sides.3. Limited bits available. Apart from what you get in the box, you can find the same sized bit in may be two different lengths (longer ones) in hardware stores / online stores. Again, there is a limitation on the screw sizes on which you can operate with this driver (and may be with every other driver)4. I could only find three compatible Wrench bits (hexagonal) to purchase; 6 mm, 8 mm, and 10 mm.5. Makita offers a small LED light in the front in the European model of this machine. Of-course we don't need them here in India because we have all naturally evolved to have night vision.6. The magnetic tip of the supplied PH2 bit could have been more powerful to hold heavier screws.7. 'Minus' screws (not star) are a pain to work with unlike star screws8. Heats up real quick if you made it work at its full potential; that could be one long screw in to a hard surface, or 20 regular sized screws in to a moderately hard surface. I wouldn't worry much because these things are made to handle such stress easily9. Sadly, it comes in one color only, like all other power tools out there. I guess different manufacturers stick with one industry approved colors each10. For its price, Makita does not even offer a hard carry case and it comes in a cardboard box!11. Steep pricing, may be for the brandingI guess I have covered all the important points I could think of and that the review will help some of you who are looking to buy this machine which is a pleasure to work with.P.S. One star less because of the lack of LED despite its steep pricing.Edit (17/Nov/2021):Although sparingly used, I've used the driver to drive various screws in to hard surfaces (as designed) and the torque on this beast is so great that the SS screws lose their necks when forced in to threads with smaller diameters. There is some kind of hammering action (not the same as in drilling machines) too, probably for extra torque and it works perfectly when you want to use the wrench bits to remove extremely tight bolts off of machineries or wherever they won't normally budge. What I do feel that the equipment lacks is the torque setting that's available on a different model. This machine is clearly designed for professionals!

Perfect tool for professional work
Good thing about cord tool is that no headache of low battery and no need of battery changing. This tool is perfect for wood working, I have used it for upto 3" phillips screws on solid wood and it works so smooth. My previous tool was cordless one and it wasn't feasible for long duration. Though a bit costly but it's worth it. Led light is missing which is useful element. Overall if u r looking for solid tool for long duration work, I highly recommend this product

Powerful machine
A powerful impact driver.use it with care because with local screws it rounds them very easily. Its hex shank bits are very difficult to come by,and many of those on amzn are not compatible with this machine.they remain loose on one or both ends.

The product is excellent and it drives screws of 3 inches without any pilot holes and did it with ease.. No work to my hand and its very light and strong.. My concern is it gets very hot after i screwed 15 3 inch screws but still continues working.. Buyers should considered it.. A more lengthy cable is welcomed, but it is what it is and did an excellent job.. The cable is thick and flexible which i didnt expect.. It makes lot of sound, i mean it, its very loud.. Over all good for DIY, hobbist and small wood workers..
