Lots of moss!!!
I bought this for craft projects, and, boy, is it going to last me a long time. I didn’t really notice any smell… a faint woodsy scent is about it. There is PLENTY of moss in this brick. Of course, I’m only using a little bit each time, but it’s soft and the color is pretty natural - a good mix of greens and browns, which honestly, it’s moss. It’s supposed to be green and brown, so if you’re expecting bright green through and through and are upset that this isn’t, you might be the problem here. This stuff is just the same as I’d see walking through the woods at my dad’s place, only dried and ready to use.

Great for orchids!
I ordered this moss for my orchid that I was repotting. It seem to be working fine. It holds the moisture and doesn't seem to dry out very quickly. So I am pretty happy with that. My orchid looks to be doing very well, so I think it's happy with this new potting moss.

Nice and green
Unlike the sphagnum moss I got a while back marketed for plants/orchids, this stuff is nice and green. It looks much better in a critter enclosure than the brown moss. It comes vacuum-packed, but fluffs up nicely especially when moistened.

Fresh, Clean, and Versatile for Potted Plants and Animal Habitats
The Egigo sphagnum moss is tightly compacted in an 8.5-inch by 8.5-inch sheet. It is a healthy shade of moss green, and it has a pleasant, subtle, earthy smell. The unit price is high as compared to that of the competitor brands, which is the reason I deducted one star from my overall rating.If you enjoy container planting and/or if you keep reptiles, amphibians, insects, snails, and/or small rodents, you will want to add moist sphagnum moss to their environment. Hamsters naturally live in dry environments, so do NOT offer moist sphagnum moss to them, as their health may be harmed. Before offering the moss to rodents, be aware that it may contain tiny insects and their eggs, and the bugs need to be eliminated. To do this, simply place the moss in your freezer where it should remain overnight. Afterward, allow the moss to thaw and thoroughly dry. My Roborovksi hamster, Peanut, loves the Egigo brand moss, and she consistently uses it in her bedding.In contrast to the needs of hamsters and similar critters, pets such as snails, insects, amphibians and lizards, will want their moss to be served moist. Among this group of crawlies, I am qualified to comment on land snails. They will appreciate the beneficial insects within the moss whose job it is to keep the snail's substrate clean. I suggest using the moss as a topper to give your snail an easily accessible place under which to hide and a soft cushion on which to land when it inevitably falls from the glass wall of its home. The moss will also help you successfully grow moisture loving plants within the terrarium and add to its beauty.
