PlayStation Vita Wi-Fi White PCH-2000ZA12

I had the original Vita and I never really enjoyed playing it. The battery life was short and it felt uncomfortable, in my opinion, to hold. When I saw these Japanese Vitas on IGN it peaked my interest but I already had a Vita that I didn't really like.After hearing reviews about the longer battery life, lighter and easier to hold new Vita I made the decision to trade my old Vita into Amazon and use the gift card for this one. I really like the white body color, over the black US version. Everything in the US is black and bland so that was my main decision for getting the Japanese version.There is one thing to note about the Japanese Vita, the X and O buttons are switched in function. So in the menu screen O opens an app and X backs out of an app. Once you open an app or game the button mapping is back to normal. Other than that the Vita is region free and there are no issues selecting English and running the US Playstation Store or US games.Comparing the new and old Vita I will say that yes the colors on the new Vita screen do not pop and are not as vibrant as the old Vita. The new Vita's LCD screen still has the same resolution as the old Vita's OLED, but it's not as bright. I have no complaints because the LCD screen doesn't consume as much battery life and doesn't seem as over saturated and the OLED. The new Vita's body is lighter due to its plastic shell and smaller size. But it is still very sturdy and well built.The new Vita feels more comfortable to hold and for me is more enjoyable to play. I've gotten as much as 3 more hours of battery life with the new Vita. It all varies depending on the game your playing. Games that push the Vita to its graphical limits use more power. While indie or older PS 1 games that don't challenge the Vita's CPU use less power.In closing I play this Vita more than the old one. In my opinion it was a step in the right direction making it a more comfortable and more enjoyable hand held to play with extra battery life to boot.

To anyone thinking about making this purchase or recreational gamers looking for portability in their hobby, look no further! The PS Vita will not disappoint.Definitely worth the import from Japan, worry not about regions and Wi-Fi capability: everything functions exactly as it's supposed to. It took me less than 10 minutes to get set-up; when you initially open up the PS Vita, you'll need to plug your device to power it up which takes about 5 minutes or less. I signed right onto my Playstation Network account and had no issues with connecting my device to my Wi-Fi which allowed me to immediately start purchasing games. There's also an awesome cloud network that allows you to buy games from your laptop or computer and download them unto your device right from the Playstation Store.It's a very sleek device which allows for long, comfortable game-play. If you're anything like me and obsess over keeping your things clean, the glossiness of the screen allows for ease in cleaning up those sticky fingerprints. The LCD screen is hardly noticeable from the previous OLED screen PS Vita, the colors are definitely not as vibrant in depth but it doesn't affect game play or minimize the experience at all!The best part the PS Vita Slim it is the new lightweight feel updated from it's predecessor, it's much more beautiful than the original PSP and holds it's potential in aesthetics and capability. I absolutely love the PS Vita in white and would recommend anyone to get this import rather than settling for the standard black color, you'll certainly enjoy it as much as I do.This device only has 1GB of integrated storage which isn't enough for large games so I would recommend purchasing a 8GB or 16GB memory card which can be bought used on Amazon.com as I have. It's MUCH cheaper than buying it brand new at retail price as they're pretty expensive and they're also very reusable: the previous owner wipes out his old memory leaving you room to download all your games on at a much lower cost than a brand new card. It's relatively safe too as the Playstation Network doesn't store personal account information on the memory cards, only the games you download from the Playstation Network and your game progress! Small tidbit for those looking to purchase this great console and use it to it's fullest capabilities without breaking the bank in investing in accessories!

First let me state that I understand that this is a refurbished product. However there is a certain level of quality to be expected when you are purchasing an expensive refurbished item and this unit doesn’t meet those standards.The console is labeled as “good” condition and “tested” by technicians. Unfortunately it wasn’t cleaned.-There is a rather large area of screen filled with dead pixels. A few is understandable but this amount is definitely a problem and should have been noted. This isn’t “good” condition...-The console arrived dirty. I had to scrape black crust off the rear camera. Is it blood? BBQ sauce? Who knows, it should have been cleaned by the seller.(I removed most of it before I took the pictures)There are also remains of some kind of adhesive on the back.I’m willing to overlook the blemishes of wear and tear but the filth is unsanitary, unprofessional and the big line of dead pixels is a deal breaker.+ shipping was pretty quick+ charging accessories are in good condition
