The Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible: KJV Edition, Hardbound (Key Word Study Bibles)

True to its WORD
This Bible is essentially a serious attempt to integrate the Strong's Concordance into the Bible, so that, while you are reading the words, you have many opportunities to look up the word in the Hebrew and Greek dictionaries in the back. This can be quite enriching, giving you a much more accurate sense of the translation, which the creators explain in the preface, when they say that when you read the word "love", for example, it's important to know there are 3 senses of the word, and so by underlining the text and directing you to the dictionary in the back, you can get a better sense of the verse's meaning. Other features of this Bible are the grammatical notes (done with a special abbreviation key process, which simply educates you on the precise grammatical tense of the verb or grammatical rule being used on the verse's word; it's quite easy to use. Like other reference bibles, it has a cross-reference system, a concordance in back (not complete), and several other nice features, such as the red-letter edition (my edition), introductions, and a "key" diagram for key concepts and its exegesis at the bottom of the page.Since most Bible enthusiasts spend a lot of time with their Bibles, other factors come into play, such as texture of pages, see-through, smell, font size, spacing, etc. I find all these features to be just fine. The pages are a bit thin, and a little handling will definitely start some creases going, but bibles are meant to be READ, right? And to put all that info into one volume (Bible + Hebrew+Greek dictionaries), you need a lot of pages. For example, this Bible is 2300 pages! Compare that to Zondervan's KJV Study Bible at 1975 pages. Please note that only the UNDERLINED words have references to the dictionaries in the back, so that means if you run across a non-underlined word, and you want to know more about its translation, you cannot look it up! You must break out your own Strong's Exhaustive Bible Concordance and look it up.Also, this is NOT a study Bible, i.e., if you need some passages explained to you (esp. with the KJV), you won't get it here. This is pretty much a word-based "lookup" Bible; technically, you CAN interpret it yourself, if you know the exact translation, but unless you are a Biblical scholar....But I love that this Bible successfully tries to make God's word "come to life" by integrating, in a very attractive and easy-to-use package, Strong's Concordance (as well as an amplified AMG dictionary/concordance) with Scripture. It makes one really inspired to look things up, esp. because the authors seem to select interesting "key words" for you. Over time, you cannot help to become much more familiar with the Hebrew and Greek words themselves. I am very pleased with this volume!

Amazing
This Key word study Bible is amazing. I started with the book of Genesis again and it’s helping me understand the key words, timeline and events in the Bible even more. I love the layout and simplicity. I got the hard copy and it’s worth every penny.

This is a must have book when reading and studying the Bible, it has both Greek and Hebrew interpretations and a Concordence. Wouldn't read without it.

Best Study Bible I've Come Across in My Lifetime
I have bought MANY Study Bibles throughout my lifetime, and I only bought this one out of loyalty and memory for the late, main editor, Dr. Spiros Z, since I worked for him for four years back in the latter 80's. I must say this is by far the best Study Bible that has come across my hands and this review is NOT being bias, it's the truth. This is my new go-to and I highly recommend to others.

Outstanding study Bible
As I learn more about the Bible, I find more I want to study. It's funny that way. It's the only book simple enough to be understood by all, but complex enough that scholars can devote their whole lives to its study and not come close to plumbing its depths. This Bible supplements my NIV Hebrew Greek Key Study Bible, as I wanted a more literal translation for this sort of study tool. I purchased the leather bound version, and am very happy with it.All the awesome grammatical tools are present, except for a few differences, such as the dictionary being that of Strong's work, instead of the more modern Kohlenberger. What this Bible contains:Bible text of OT and NTGrammatical aids to the NTLexical aids to the OT and NTNASB Concordance of OT and NTGuide to transliterationStrong's Hebrew and Greek DictionariesMapsPros:- This Bible is a little better suited to word studies, as it is a more literal translation.- The layout of most of the Bible has slightly larger text for easy reading, without being too bulky.- There are key notes that are usually extremely helpful and consistent with conservative, exegetical scholarship- The cross references are very beneficial- Despite this being a different and complicated system of notation, visual layout of the features on a two-page section in the front of the Bible make it easy to learn to use.Cons:- It uses Strong's dictionaries rather than Kohlenberger's lexicons. Strong's definitions are based on Thayer's Greek Lexicon, which is dated scholarship that is no longer the best source, and which confuses classical and Koine Greek frequently, causing incorrect assumptions. (This is the reason for this getting only 4 stars)- The dictionary in the back appears to be a copy and past from another work, as the text is shrunk and very difficult to read, with a large blank space at the bottom of the page indicative of being copied from another sized page than what is used in this Bible. The Greek and Hebrew characters are very difficult to make out because of this.In deciding between the NASB and NIV versions of this extremely valuable study tool, I am torn. On the one hand, you have the literal text of the NASB 1977 version but with Strong's dictionary. On the other hand, you have the thought-for-thought NIV Bible that is harder to do word studies in because of the way it is translated, but you have the Kohlenberger dictionaries, which are much more valuable for word study. This makes it very difficult to choose.Overall, this is an outstanding tool for study and I would recommend adding it to your library of Christian study aids.
