Stopped working after 3 months
Beware Motorguide is no longer a dependable company. After a dozen uses, the motor went out on mine. I took it in for warranty and it’s been sitting on in the shop for two months waiting on parts.I spoke to several users on a Facebook user group and everybody is having trouble with these new Motorcraft trolling motors. I spoke to one person that said his motor went out under warranty and it’s been in the shop since November waiting on parts. The parts are there because they’re selling new ones, but they give absolute no support for motors that go out under warranty. Never again.! It’s now going into the third month in the parts been delayed again.Update: I finally got a replacement, I spoke to Attwood marine and they agreed to send me a new one, but they still have big issues on parts for warranty, hopefully the new one will last longer and I will never need the warranty again

Don't take my word for it. Do research.
Thisbrand is owned Navonics. Their "locally outsourced" (so called) customer service and warranty is handled by Mercury. Their responses. Make you feel like you are dealing with non-english speaking employees using a translator. However, they are sadly stateside. They lack empathy, conversation skills and reading comprehension. They ate facilitators at best as they will simply read a script. To the motor; this particular model has a known issue (as with most Navonics brands) . The known issue was provided to me during a conversation with their employee. He volunteered the information. That led me to a more precise internet search. Before this search I was willing to but the bullet and pay for the new part and just move on to garmin or minn Kota next. After researching reading multiple forums and tons of videos.....oh my. They owe every Motorguide xi3 owner one free steering transmission at least. It is one of the most consistent known issues I've ever seen (and that's after dealing with Ford engines) . Not only admitted by their employee but confirmed by countless customers. However, after this employee, the rest were awful. They denied over and over and over. They were combative when confronted. They did not grasp details I provides them and repeatedly asked foe details I already provided. It's unfortunate because they are simply entry level hourly pawns who just do as their company tells them. They then got their mighty lead customer service rep involved. He was just as clueless and lacked just as many basic comprehension skills and tried to be aggressive. It is clear they know there's an issue. It's clear as they will be combative and defensive when the known issue is brought up.
