Looks are deceiving, these work fantastic
we got these for my dad for Christmas, when he opened them, he didn’t think he was gonna like them because they didn’t seem like they would really grip on the slimy rocks with fish on. Boy, was he wrong! He absolutely loves them, he used to slip and slide all over the place with the studded felts and now he doesn’t slide at all. If you don’t mind just a tiny bit of extra weight on your feet and you don’t wanna slide anymore. I would recommend these 100%!

Got 2 year's out of them.
The media could not be loaded. Lasted 2 year's. Used them on the rocks at least 5 days a week from May to November.. Only problem is replacing the hexes. The screws wear down too. Was able to get them out with some effort.

Great Product, but do NOT forget to tighten the bolts
Just bought my second set.LOVE the grip these give on the slick, algae covered rocks in the North Georgia mountain streams.I'm a very tall guy in my 50's and this kind of grip is critical because the recovery time for the inevitable fall is a lot longer than when I was in my 30's.In addition to advocating for the product, I want to include in this review how important it is to tighten the bolts prior to putting them on your boots, as well as tighten them up from time to time as you use them.I've included a pick of my first pair - what's left of them. I wasn't aware of the need to tighten them (obviously). To Korker's credit, they now include a sticker that says "Tighten Before Use" AND the Allen Wrench to do it.Great product. A little pricey, but having solid footing in the middle of a shallow river is priceless.

Studs fall off even after tightening them.
So I got these to replace the insoles that where on a pair of 2 year old dark horses. After following instructions to tighten the studs right out the package I was thinking I was set to go. O was I wrong. The 1st trip my buddy said hey is that a stud in the water. Yes it was. Only 4 hours on the river I had lost 5 studs. By the 4th drip weeks later I lost a whole insole in the river. So I was slipping on rocks trying not to fall in the water because one boot had no traction. So now I’m thinking about weather to ever by another pair of korkers boots again. This was my second pair of korkers and the first pair did the same thing losing one insole. So I think I’ll buy another. Just stick with other brands and add gutter screws to the bottoms. Korkers are a gimmick when it comes to wading boots for fly fishing. I did get a refund for the insoles. In the end the convenience off swapping out insoles is not worth trading for a solid pair off boots that last several years for avid anglers.

good grip but almost impossible to keep screwed in.
Great traction in the slime! BUT...When you receive these the screws will probably be loose. There is, what I assume is blue Loctite on the threads but it is dry so it doesn't work. Even after tightening the studs before use, I lost 6. I would suggest reapplying the blue Loctite and tightening the studs BEFORE you use them and letting the Loctite cure correctly. I'm sending a note to Korkers also.

Absolutely amazing.
I was on the fence about these vs some of the other options. I'm glad I went with these, the grip is outstanding, even in ice. As others have mentioned, make sure to tighten these before you head out for your trip. I took a little extra precaution and put a dab of blue loctite on each screw. Wish I would of bought them sooner.

Love these!
I couldn’t decide on these or they ones with the aluminum discs so I decided to do both. I ordered these with the spikes and then got replacement aluminum discs. I rotated between the discs and spikes in every other spot and they are now like the best of both worlds.
