A good size for the average homeowner.......
I will admit that all of my power tools are DeWalt. I'm just a DeWalt kind of guy and buying a single brand means I can use a common set of batteries, chargers and attachments, blades, etc.....which is convenient.I wish I had the money to have two of everything....one with batteries and one with a power cord. I always have to agonize, when contemplating a new DeWalt tool, whether to go AC power or DC Battery. For years, my drill motor and impact wrench set were the only batter powered DeWalt tools I owned. But I branched out with this reciprocating saw and I have not bee disappointed. It is not the biggest or most powerful reciprocating saw out there.....but it is more than adequate for virtually all Harry Homeowner projects or even small contractor use. It is a versatile little rascal and, having only had big, monster saws before this one, I find it a joy not to have to figure out how I'm going to get the saw into the working space. It also seems to be pretty miserly on power usage and doesn't go through even my smaller 20 volt batteries very quickly. This allows me to put the smaller, lower rated batteries in it and get into some smaller spaces that I wouldn't be able to negotiate with the much larger, higher rated batteries.DeWalt, for me, has always been the best mix I could find between reliability and cost. I cried when they went from the old 18 to 20 volt system as I had virtually ever 18 volt tool they made plus a dozen chargers and over 20 batteries. But, once DeWalt quit supporting their 18 volt system, I have slowly replaced most of the old 18 volt tools with 20 volt tools or switched them over to AC driven power cord tools. My fear is that, once I accumulated a huge selection of 20 volt tools and batteries that they will come up with a 22 or 24 volt system and I will have to start all over again. But this particular saw is well made, sturdy and extremely versatile. I have absolutely no complaints about it....it is as good a tool as DeWalt makes.

Great tool…
Bought this for cutting limbs. Have cut limbs so far up to six inches with ease. Battery life is plenty good and fast charging. Saw is light but powerful and can be handled with one hand. Also used for cutting some 3/8 metal concrete rebar off at ground level. Just make sure you get quality blades, because poor cutting is not this saws fault. I use Milwaukee wood or metal blades with good results. Great tool…

Versatile and Effective Power Tool!
I purchased this for pruning decorative trees (instead of my 14" chainsaw) and it doesn't disappoint. I upgraded the battery to the longer life (5 amp) version, and it rarely requires a charge. This thing definitely has the cutting power you need in a reciprocating saw without the burdensome wires. And c'mon, it's DeWalt, sooo...enuf said, right!?! I would definitely purchase again and recommend to anyone who appreciates a quality cordless power tool. It's been accidentally dropped a few times, and the only thing that happened was a broken blade. The housing seems to take quite a beating and the tool functions flawlessly.

Well worth the money
I hesitated to purchase this kit since I already had another brand's reciprocating saw which was getting on in age. I bit the bullet during the Prime days since I had a fairly major porch demo to take care of and the price was tempting. I am so glad I did, the saw cut through wood with ease anda I also used it to take down some quite large tree branches

Great lightweight saw.
Needed something portable and cordless for occasional work. Works great.

Performs like a corded saw, 5 amp Battery lasts very long time
Was a little skeptical because of experience with older battery saw. This Dewalt is light years ahead. It is very light, easy to handle and maneuver. Battery really lasts a long time. Cuts through most materials very easily and quickly. What more can I say, I'm a Dewalt fan.

Don't buy the 20V line, for you want to buy more!
I bought this saw, for I had to cut a bunch of iron bolts at the ceiling. The first experience was moderate, for I wasn't used to work with this type of saw.But after a few days of works I learned how to position the saw to get the best results.Ans after more than a month working with this sawsall, my findings are the following:1. it really saws everything (iron, wood, branches) as long as you keep the saw firm to the objectto protect unexpected trembling2. for wood it is useful for raw sawing , not in a straight line (better use a circsaw instead)3. my best experience with this saw was pruning (with the Bosch blades). This is really awesome. I wish I had discovered this a few years earlier.Easily cuts branches up to 4-5 inches, like a hot knife in butter. The bad thing?I bought more of the 20V Dewalt (cordless is so easy) devices and I didn't regret it.update March 2:Five stars instead of four. Did a lot of pruning, even trees that were bigger that my longest blade. When working long, the trembling will tiresome, but the job is done excellent!Great device, especially for pruning.
