Only attach this to your dog's body harness. This is NOT meant to attach to a dog's collar, as one reviewer mentioned. (Would be like a seat belt around your neck) Duh!!!! Of course that would be dangerous. Seems to be good quality and strong. Attaches/adjusts easily around headrests. Great adjustable length to keep my pups on the seat. I situated one on the passenger side and one on the driver's side of the back seat. They do not get tangled and still have the freedom to look out the windows plus they can stand, sit, and lay down comfortably.

This review is for the restraint item as it connects to the car, and not for the attachment you choose to put on your dog. This product is easy to attach to the car and serves its purpose. However, use common sense and attach it to a harness on your dog instead of a neck collar. In case of a whiplash or an accident, you don't want that jerking force on your dog's neck. Purchase a good harness to pair with this. The diameter that attaches to the car seat headrest did not appear to be expandable to a large size so make sure you don't have a "too-large" headrest.

Second time I’ve gotten these (for our second car). I have a 106 lb dog and a 63 lb dog. These leashes are sturdy and long enough for them to hang their heads out the window, but fully adjustable if you want them shorter. I leave them in there all the time and they don’t get in the way of passengers. Best purchase I’ve made to protect the safety of my pets! Hooked to a harness so it acts like a seatbelt in case an accident happens.

These are great for a dog who likes to walk around from window to window in the back seat. I had the ones that buckled in to the seat belt buckles previously but the dogs seemed like they weren't very happy and so one of the dogs chewed through theirs. With these, the dogs don't even seem to notice they are on a seatbelt/leash. It holds them at what I think is a much more ergonomic angle.

These are great. My dog moves around a lot, so he has always managed to unbuckle his seatbelt that clips in to the normal seatbelt clip. NO MORE! With this, I don't have to worry about him coming free while we are cruising around.UPDATE:If you have a large dog like mine (70lbs+) they can pull hard enough that the leash breaks. Used the second one and discovered that if you have a stubborn chewer, they'll chew through the leash to be free. To prevent this, it's important that you clip it to a harness on their back and give them just enough slack to be comfortable, but not enough that they can get ahold of it.

The part that loops around the headrest is small, though the illustration lists it as 14-22". I drive a 2020 Corolla and I had to fully extend the loop for it to fit. Measure around the vehicle headrest you will be using before ordering! The leash length is adequate. I haven't driven yet with my 20 lb dog, but I think this product is adequate and will serve its purpose. I can imagine a large dog pulling the headrest off.

These worked great for both our dog and cat on our 6000 cross country trip. Enough length so they could move around without moving to the front seat when attached to back headrests. If the passenger wanted a little cat love on the move we attached the cat to the front seat head rest. Easy to install and remove. Sturdy enough to use as a leash in a pinch. Highly recommend these.

I purchased these for travel in my Motorhome. I wanted to secure my two dogs using their harness so they could not get to me while I was driving and to secure them Incase I was in an accident.It does keep the dogs happily on the twin couches and away from my feet while I’m driving. I just hope I never get in accident to see whether or not it saves their life. These work great when you do not have a seatbelt available to tether your dogs.

I bought these to go with some dog car seats which had a couple of safety issues around the security of the stitched in safety leash. I felt my puppy was very secure with this product on our first car trip out without another adult present.That said, he did try to have a little chew of the leash but he was in the front seat so I just pushed his mouth away from it and he went to sleep. If he was in the back, who knows, but there are sprays to deter chewing and I’m hoping that as he gets used to car rides he won’t try to chew it for long. (I forgot to take his chew stick out with us today, which might also have provided a distraction)As for my senior dog...perfect! The tether comes from above so he can turn around in his seat without getting his legs tangled up.

I'd always used the plug in typedef seatbelt before, until one of my dogs managed to step on the red button and unbuckle! This better style can also be used with a waterproof dog seat cover which covers the entire back of the car and the seatbelt clips so they are great! They are adjustable too so my lab can safely reach to stick his head out of the window without being able to get out.

Not sure if this is chew proof as I’ve not been using it long enough yet to see. Great idea and works well in any vehicle. I would prefer if the clip was more robust but I have no evidence to say that this one will not stand the test of time...it’s just my personal observation

Great item - just what a needed. Just need them chew proof as found our idiot dog had munched her way half way through it on first trip. For a normal dog I’m sure it’ll be fine.
