Works very smoothly. Excellent quality.
It works great. Seems to be very high quality. The matching trim set is over-built and attractive. My only complaint is that there is no way to control the volume/flow. I suppose that makes sense for the tub, but I'd like to have more control over the shower. But there are flow valves that you can put in line before the shower head.

Fine fit and finish
Valve works great. I typically get 35-50 psi from the city, and measured a tiny bit less than 4 gpm out of the valve (which is documented as 5 gpm on Kohler's site). Install instructions were easy to follow, and I had never soldered a pipe or really ever done any sort of plumbing before. Temperature regulation on pressure fluctuation seemed to work as advertised (flushing nearby toilet no longer scalds anyone, pretty awesome). Would buy again.I couldn't easily find this info when I bought it, but:1. Water comes out the downward direction by default.1a. For bathtubs, you can make the shower head the default, but you'll have to route the down-spout up and the up-spout down.1b. There are documented limits on max height to shower head from the valve...2. You push the button to divert.3. Valve is more than capable of diverting while full-on

Love Kohler
We have always been very happy with Kohler products. The quality is top notch. We had all our fixtures picked out for our master bathroom remodel. We had planned on purchasing them from a highend Kohler storefront located near us. We were going to have to wait several weeks for some of the items to arrive. We were able to order the exact same items from Amazon and get them much faster and at a better price!

read and understand the Installation and Care Guide very thoroughly
As I examined the specs and the installation pdf's on my pc, I could see that the Kohler drawings show a 3/4" range in min and max wall material thickness in relation to the horizontal 2x4 bracing where the valve is mounted and the outside surface of the finished wall. Kohler's Installation and Care Guide states: "NOTE: The position of the 2x4 bracing is dependent on the thickness of your finished wall." And I add, not the stud.Further down the pdf states to cut a 5 9/16" hole in the wall material and then install the wall material. However, The illustration on page 15 of the supplied instructions and the identical online PDF's shows what appears to be a slightly larger diameter of the unit than the plaster guard. This may suggest that extra trimming may be necessary where that valve may contact the subwall when the combined thickness of the sub wall, thinset and tile is greater than 3/4". When I looked at the valve the diameters are the same, 5 1/2". There is no need for trimming if the hole is where you intended..Whew!! I had to think this out really hard.

Item failed to function.
After a week of trying to get this device to actually function correctly. a plumber and I determined that the cartridge Which is located on the inside Was installed backwards? and that was the reason why it would not work correctly. Buyer beware

Works well
Does what it's supposed to do. Remember to buy trim that will accommodate the part that sticks out below the handle area. That will be the button that you press to switch from the bath tub to the shower head.

Nice
What you see is what you get another great product by Kohler. Most of the complaints you see on this or from people I don’t know anything about plumbing. This product is perfectly fine installed correctly and has everything you need
