Great tasting water, and install was doable
The water tastes noticeably better. My dad installed this within 2 hours, he said it was a little tricky at times but overall very doable. No leaks and it fit nicely under my sink. The water flow is good too.I plan to use this water for drinking, for rinsing produce, for watering plants, and for my fish tank.

Easy Install, Easy Maintenance, Low Waste Water, Excellent Taste, Superior Customer Service
The Home Master TMAFC-ERP Artesian Full Contact Undersink Reverse Osmosis Water Filter System is exactly as advertised. I finally gathered the gumption to replace our old system due to (1) the need to change the filters every six months (which was always an ordeal), (2) the annual cost of said filters, (3) a slightly off-taste (the tank needed replacement—cleaning it did not help), (4) the ridiculous amount of waste-water it produced (originally 3:1, but definitely worsened over time). The Home Master resolved each of these issues: (1) an annual filter change with easy quick disconnect/connect fittings, (2) less expensive filters per year, (3) excellent tasting water (the old system was not artesian, so the Home Master was an upgrade), a 1:1 ratio for waste-water (with a passive pump). Additional plusses: the Home Master’s reservoir fills quickly, and in my case the output pressure is solid.I highly recommend going to Home Master’s home web-site for full details and lots of additional information, as well as a link to their short installation videos. I would supply that here, but want to remain friends with Amazon ♥. The install booklet that came with the unit is also very clear, albeit it could be improved with the addition of better pictures: some of us are visual learners who appreciate diagrams more than videos (even short ones). As for the install videos, they are also clear enough but are definitely not professional (I’m a bit of a production nerd). In my case the install was plagued with old-house plumbing gremlins. Once these little guys were pacified with a trip to the hardware store for adapter fittings, and another hardware run for a new faucet hose (yep, I broke it *sigh*), installation was indeed a breeze. Those pesky gremlins. In the past I had avoided adding a pump for efficiency since they were electric. The Home Master TMAFC-ERP resolved this with a no-brainer passive pump: no electricity hookup required! No need to worry about power-outages, running conduit, etc. As long as I have water pressure, I have artesian water. The primary complaint that consumers have frequently reported has to do with the noise said pump produces. There are two models that I am aware of: the ERP 500 and the ERP 1000. Both units “click” regularly as water passes through them, and the latter model is apparently worse than the former with an added “swooshing” sound. I made sure to get a system with the ERP 500, and it does indeed click in the 50+dB level (i.e., loud enough for most humans to plainly hear). In our case this clicking is amplified due to the pump’s need to be installed in a bracket anchored to a wooden panel within an enclosed cabinet space. Not ideal. Others have attempted to resolve the issue by padding the unit with t-shirts or towels, or avoiding Home Master’s mounting solution altogether (apparently using Velcro to attach the pump to a pipe works ;-). My solution involved a layer of old memory foam between the installation bracket and the cabinet wall to dull vibration transfer, and additional memory foam installed with packing tape around the pump as a muffle (pictured). Not pretty, but it essentially works (hence five stars). Even so, I can still plainly hear it clicking if I am in the same room. It is also occasionally audible in adjacent rooms if the doors are open, but not enough to distract (so far).At an additional cost the manufacturer offers a muffling material to add between the pump’s bracket and wall. While it would be helpful if they just included it with the unit in the first place, I suspect than anyone who relied on this bit of rubber (or whatever it is made of) would be disappointed by the results. In our case, dulling the vibration transfer was simply not enough to dampen the pump’s clicking to a tolerable level. The whole thing needed to be shrouded. IMHO the manufacturer would significantly increase their fan base (with higher reviews) if they included a full shroud with their whole systems, and as a paid option for those who just need the pump. Surely Home Master could come up with something better than old t-shirts or towels (or a rubber sheet), as well as an improved mounting system, without breaking the bank. Such an addition would make a great system just plain fantastic.UPDATE: A year has passed and I still love this system! I encountered one snafoo so far: the faucet became loose over time. I contacted the company directly via their customer-service system on the web site, and *the same day* they contacted me for an address and sent a replacement faucet--no questions and absolutely no hassles. This was hands-down the best customer service experience I have ever had, period. After watching one of their videos and how to adjust the faucet, I was able to fix the existing faucet without using the replacement (see pics). I was going to try doing this before ordering a replacement, but they contacted me before I had a chance to test my theory 😇.I changed out the filters with the yearly replacements while I was at it. The directions were crystal clear, and the process was painless and fast 😀. I look forward to years of service from this unit.❤️ Kudos to Home Master for a great product and for fabulous customer service! ❤️I bought my Home Master fair-and-square, and did not participate in the dubious activity of a paid review.

Careful, this will greatly change your expectations of water!
My family first purchased and installed this unit in February 2016. My wife and I have only ever known city/tap water. I've lived in many different states, cities with some water tasting better than others. But I've always been fine drinking tap water and thought nothing of it except for one location where it was just beyond terrible. But whatever right? So late 2015, my crazy wife (so I thought) started going back and forth from the store refilling your everyday gallon containers at the distilled water location inside the store. Why she started doing that? Probably saw some article or youtube video explaining what's really in our drinking water and/or just how reliant and at the mercy we are of the city. Also, the CIty of Flint fiasco was going on around this time too and I started to think she wasn't so crazy. But I mostly drank my tap water while teasing her about the water jug lugging back and forth. Then on my trips to the store I found myself being asked to fill water containers. That didn't last long before I started looking around the net at reverse osmosis and the different systems available. Since I buy nearly everything on Amazon my search quickly led me to "Home Master" because of the great reviews. I pulled the trigger on this package (home master has several options) because of the permeate pump which it "reduces waste water, increases production, and allows your tank to fill fuller."Anyway, it's been 4 years and my wife AND I and the entire family are obsessed with this unit and the quality and taste of the water!! I take my water to work each day in fact and NEVER drink and can't stand tap water. Even several different bottle waters are no longer "good." I can't over emphasize how awesome and in love we are with this unit and the water it gives us. Installation? I took my time, for your average person, not difficult and very doable. Two years later we moved, I was reluctant to mess with uninstalling this and contemplated just buying a new one. Well, removal wasn't bad either, reinstalled at new home. Ended up buying one and installing for my mother who is obsessed as well. Then uninstalled and installed in her new home. So between all the installs, uninstalls and filter changing I feel like a true Home Master veteran!Like any company, I don't care how great the product is if the company/customer service is lacking, especially badly. No fear, I've dealt with customer service on a few occasions (you won't need them much) and they've been nothing but extremely helpful and patient, even when I asked a dumb question like why is my water white??? After filter change your water will have many many tiny air bubbles making the water appear white. When we first received and installed our unit, water would shoot out of the faucet to the point it would fly back out of the glass if you weren't careful. This was great because you weren't standing there for 10 minutes trying to fill the glass. After a year or two the water was much slower coming out and we contacted Home Master, they walked me through fixing this issue easy enough by adding pressure to the tank but they even sent me, free of charge, a replacement part that may be the cause. It wasn't. Just the tank pressure. No big deal. This has truly caused us to demand more from our water. Has made me a water snob. We drink a lot of water in my family and I don't leave home without our RO water not just for my day at work. The company is GREAT to deal with if you have any needs. Can communicate with them chatting on the website or by phone of course. Not dealing with someone overseas. There may be other good companies out there with a good product and service but you will not find BETTER service with a BETTER product than Home Master. It just won't happen. We've never looked back! Highly recommend and I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Thank you Home Master, even if you have turned me into a water snob! I have become the guy at work that I would make fun of for bringing water to work, WATER!
