Great transparent crossover
True DBX quality, and very useful in the studio! I have 2 near field full-range monitors and 2 subs (using as a stereo 2-way). This unit allows me to control where the full range and subs crossover, being able to adjust not only the frequency, but the levels as well make this unit versatile and very useful!

Transformed my system
I've been an audiophile for 30 years. About 15 years ago i integrated a sub, eventually a pair of subs, into my 2 channel system. I did this because a truly full-range high end speaker pair is extremely expensive. Typically starting at $15,000 and up from there. I have a $10,000 pair of speakers that compete with any speaker at any price down to about 32Hz. Below that they roll off quickly. The subs fill in the lower bass. For years I used a crossover to control the cut-off on the signal sent to the subs but allowed the main speakers to run full-range. I thought that anything inserted into the signal before the amp would degrade the sound so never considered a crossover like this. I also thought I had my system dialed in and was happy with the sound.I bought this dbx crossover just to play around with expecting I would either set it aside or return it. Instead, I have been blown away by the improvement in sound. I've detected no degradation of detail in the sound.I love this thing.A few months ago I installed this crossover between my preamp and amp and was amazed

Probably the best addition to my Home Stereo
Do you have speakers that really want to produce 20 to 20K but just struggles like the little engine that just couldn't? Get this active crossover and some subs like me. DBX has been around for years. I purchased some processors from them in the eighties for my first stereo and it appears they are still going strong. Since I've added this crossover, I adjusted the frequency so that my speaker can produce clean highs and mid-bass and passed the lower bass to two subs. It took a while to get the right settings but for my system 70hz appears to be the right high to low cutoff. Yours might be different but just adding subs using LFE to your system is just makes things worst. You can hear what I'm talking about if you go to YouTube and listen to stereo systems that just added subs without using an active crossover. Anyway try this out for yourself and see what a difference it will make in your stereo system.

Great Crossover
I run 4 active 12 inch main top boxes and 2 active 18 inch sub-woofer boxes. My signal chain is mic/instrument/cd player --> mixer (HPF, gate, compressor, and parametric eq) --> 31 band equalizer (tune the room and ring out the feedback) --> DBX crossover (80-90 crossover point). Although my active 12 inch main top boxes have a built in 200 Hz crossover point or HPF and my 2 active 18 inch sub-woofers have a 130 Hz crossover point or LPF, I prefer to "set my own crossover point" and control the "gain" to the sub-woofer and mains separately with this DBX crossover while setting the signal gain and volume on my boxes at the most optimal point. This DBX crossover allows and affords you flexibility and control over crossover point, gain to the mains, and gain to the sub woofers. That is what you are paying for.

dbx performs vey well and is very quiet.
I cannot believe I've been without such an important piece of equipment! It is one of the best things that I have added to my sound system, it goes really well with subs because now an amp can be dedicated to the appropriate speakers to extenuate each group of frequencies. The thing I found odd is that it did not come with a power switch. But over all it is quiet and performs super well.
