The best
I have used this product for over 20 years and nothing cleans like it. However, being the strong cleaner it is, it leaves your silver looking pale - more like its unprocessed state - and not shiny as we prefer to see silver appear in jewelry. So here's the dealio:1) also buy a silver polishing cloth when you buy this solution1) dip your silver in this solution (you can leave it overnight but it's usually no better than leaving for a couple of minutes unless the silver has somehow become oxidized)2) rinse thoroughly with tap water, feeling no slick residue on the silver3) towel dry (might want to shake it out a bit, too, if a heavy piece like a bracelet or a Balearic silver necklace)4) rub with a silver polishing cloth - the *second-most important* part to the polishing procedure. If you follow these simple steps, your silver will always look amazing with the Connoisseur's solution being the centerpiece and the silver polishing cloth being the companion of tantamount importance. Between dips, the polishing cloth alone will get you by but only until the details unreachable by cloth begin to get colored (the insides of etched details or the insides of chain links, for instance). That said, getting a silver polishing cloth is very important to sparkling silver and they are very cheap - just as this solution is - so don't cut corners by not getting one. However, the cloth is not a substitute for this solution, nor is the solution going to prove its magic without the polishing cloth. Now that you've read this, if you *don't* get a silver polishing cloth, too, be sure to wear a tall and pointed dunce hat at your next social engagement...along with your lackluster silver jewelry. Even a shopworn, discolored cloth blackened by the tugs of silver over the years will still work just as well even after two Miley Cyruses (my newest yard stick for aging).Oh yeah - and just as other reviews have noted - this stuff *does* stink like a rotten egg but only as the solution is frequently used and evaporates over time. When the Connoisseurs Silver Jewelry Cleaner is fresh, it is not so bad at all and smells very much like the household cleaner Simple Green. So far, a simple 8oz jar of Connoisseurs Silver Jewelry Cleaner like this one lasts me about ten years and buddy buddy, *does* the jar I'm replacing today have an odor (it's down to the last inch of solution today). But it DOES take *years* before it gets to stinking like that. You bet I'll forgive the smell of its tenure for all its wondrous effects...and this third jar I am ordering today will last me yet another decade, I'm sure. This is a fantastic investment in a time where few prove so enduring and reliable.

Very Strong Product
I used this cleaning product on my silver necklace. Before using it I have tried other products. Toothpaste, microfiber cloths ect. Now this stuff works well, I think a bit too well. After I followed the instructions I started to dry my necklace and quickly began to realize that the luster I once had is gone. It almost stripped away what ever luster my necklace already had. Also the liquid is a strong chemical. Be careful if you get it on your skin. It happened to me and my skin felt extremely dry in a mater of minutes. Very strong stuff. Will it clean and remove the ugly tarnish, Yes! But use caution ⛔️ that I may be too strong for your jewelry. I think I will follow half the time the instructions mentioned. I also need to invest in a microfiber cleaning cloth. Those work very well after using any cleaning agent. Hope this helps.

works GREAT and saves time polishing
I have some of the traditional Tiffany silver jewelry (the linked chain and the heart) which i have always liked to wear but it is the biggest pain to polish and to get in those grooves of the chain links would drive anyone crazy. not worth all the effort (and i have the necklace AND the bracelet). That was my main motive for buying this cleaning solution but i also have some other silver jewelry that would benefit. so it works JUST as it says. within in SECONDS i had gleaming, beautiful jewelry that looked like i took hours polishing. i did not even remember the last time those pieces looked that good. Added bonus: i had some cheaper jewelry that i thought had the cheap silver film coming off and was ready to throw away. Before I did so, i went ahead and threw those pieces in the basket too. it was NOT the film coming off, it was tarnish on the silver plating I guess b/c this restored those pieces too and they are also looking like brand new! couldn't be happier.this is NOT to be used on stones or anything else. please read the actual details of the product. there is another jewelry cleaner for stones and other items. this is silver and silver plated jewelry only.**the smell: i almost did not get it after people said it smelled. So when first opening, it almost smelled like one of those "wintergreen" tablets that are often in the airplane bathrooms. then after i kept using it kind of DID smell like the actual potty contents w/the wintergreen over it. LOL. so i can def detect the unpleasant smell. however, unless you stick your nose right in it, the smell is not at all over powering. i have a VERY deep sink in the kitchen. i put the container in the sink and used it that way and kept my head and my nose pretty far from the container. it was fine. In no way is the smell a deal breaker b/c for the few seconds that the product is used and if you don't stick your head super close to the container, it is really a non factor**
