Great product
Perfect fit once I shaped the one side and drilled holes to screw into stock.

priced right, excellent value
I have an ancient JC Higgins 12 gauge in dire need of a new recoil pad. Since it's primary function was to hang on the wall as a conversation piece, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a replacement. This Tourbon pad is slightly longer and a "grind to fit" pad as are many aftermarket replacements. I removed the old pad, screws, and metal backing plate, then I sanded the wood smooth before glueing the new pad to the end with some Shoe Goo. I used blue tape around the butt end of the stock and carefully sanded the excess pad overhang with a dremel tool with a sanding attachment. I finished the sanded area with 400 wet/dry sandpaper. I recommend this product for its value and adaptability.

Soft sticky rubber.
The rubber material is soft and sticky. It will not conform to your buttstock without gluing a hard material (i.e. plastic, wood or aluminum) to it and then grinding to fit. Any dust or shavings will stick to it and not come off. If you apply any oil to it it will only get softer and cleaners don't work. A Cerakote application will harden the rubber and make it impervious and non sticky. I hope this helps. Read before you buy. It may save you time and aggravation.

Do it yourself recoil pad
Have a custom 30-06 built on a Mauser action.I got a great deal on it at used gun shop. I think it was probably built in the late 60s early 70s. The recoil pad was dry rotted and a gunsmith wanted $150 to replace. I ordered this for $10 and sanded it to fit. Used some epoxy and the original screws. Came out great. Very happy with product.

Perfect fit on a Mossberg 185
I needed to replace the butt pad on my buddy's ancient Mossy 185. This pad fit perfectly without any trimming of any kind. I used white Gorilla glue, whipped up with a pinch of water. Perfect adhesion, perfect solution. No screws needed.Just watch out for the rock-hard jolt you'll get from this "pad." It's better than the raw wooden stock, but not much. Thank goodness the 185 is only a 20 gauge.

Good quality basic pad. No complaints.
This is a nice soft recoil pad. No complaints. It may not fit a fatter stock. Excellent value. Looks good.

Perfect for my needs
I have been restoring an old rifle and have ordered and returned many items. This fit almost perfectly and had very little trimming requirements.

Needs glue
Has no support in pad to hold firmly against stock…
