Short book - also is first chapter of his Best Poems book.
Nice argument for what poetry is and why we should read it. Not much on HOW to read it, but it's not meant for that. It is also the first chapter of his Best Poems of the English Language book. It has a recommended reading list at the end, and those items are the substance of the Best Poems book. So, might be better to just buy the other book if you wany the poetry as well.

Harold Bloom & English Literature
Harold Bloom's love for the genius of the English language is a constant source of inspiration to me. His selections in this book are most informative,a must for any English teacher, especially for primary schools as these are often overlooked when thinking of English Literature. I thoroughly recommend this book

too bad
This book was a disappointment. It taught me almost nothing, except that Harold Bloom did not invest much time or thought in writing it. He rambled and tried my patience.

Disappointed
Very convoluted and disorganized. Definitely not reader-friendly.
