Pediatrician Approved
A great mixture of whimsy and concise but comprehensive text. I personally never could finish Dubin’s text nor could endorse purchasing his book on moral grounds alone.I wish this book had existed during my first few years of medical school. I truly think that it would have provided me with a better foundation and attitude towards learning about the heart and EKG interpretation. For visual learners especially this book is a treasure and could be appropriate for all members of a medical team (EMT to MD/DO, and everyone in between.) I will recommend this book to other students and trainees I work with in the future. Happy learning leads to retention, not regurgitation.

Very complete EKG book for beginner and intermediate
I am an Internal Medicine Physician that loves learning about EKG and reviewing concepts so I bought this book out of curiosity and because of the drawings. As soon as I started reading it I could tell there was a lot of thought put into every detail in this book. I still haven't completed it. But to this point I have noticed it is very concise yet gives enough explanation to understand while not missing important concepts. It has the simplicity of “The Only ECG Book You Will Ever Need” with the complexity of “ECG Pocket Brain” ... with added memory tools to simplify learning. It has excellent narration that makes reading seamless as if you were reading a novel, and the pictures are funny without being distracting (actually aiding knowledge retention). I have a passion for learning and teaching, and a passion for studying EKGs and I can say hands down this book is better than the Dubin (personally i dont enjoy reading that book). And i feel it will only get better with each revision.Dr. Francisco Rodriguez Gomez

Better than Dubin's!
We had to learn ECGs over break (PA student here) and came back to a quiz to assess where we were at before being formally taught. The class average was a 57% and I got a 90%. I HIGHLY recommend Sparkson's over Dubin's. I purchased both. Sparkson's has a better format, and is much easier to read. The pictures and memory devices make learning the nuances of ECGs so much easier, and he has ways to help you remember literally everything. Each chapter has a recap and bullet points on big concepts, so it has built in review sheets. There are example rhythm strips for everything, and its just a really well written book. I CAN NOT GIVE A HIGHER RECOMMENDATION FOR THIS BOOK.If that's not enough google Dubin to see what he went to jail for and then you'll definitely want to buy this book instead. :)

Adorable, funny, AND educational
I am a paramedic and an educator. I absolutely love this book. For the beginner, it's easy to understand and entertaining enough to hold the reader's interest through some pretty dry content. It uses a great combination of illustration, effective explanation, and creative analogies to explain ECGs. Learning ECGs can be daunting at first, but this makes it so much more inviting. If you're struggling with ECGs, this book will help you. If you're an ECG wiz, you'll find this amusing at the very least. This is a book that is truly made to teach anyone. And I'm just picturing my cardiomyocytes laughing hysterically right now...

Amazing guide to EKGs! Glad I have this for school!
I'm in a pretty rigorous fast paced PA program and we had to learn EKGs in the span of 3 weeks... this book saved my life. So well written, amazing illustrations and wonderful ways to remember details that I'll need as a future clinician. Worth the money spent. Thank you to the author - an awesome PA!

Absolutely Excellent. Don't give money to the other guy
So glad this was recommended to me! Excellent source. I am a PA student with zero prior experience in interpreting ECGs. This book makes otherwise dry content (lead placement, normal values) engaging and memorable, and has fun memory-sparkers throughout. Seems accurate and pretty thorough for a fundamental understanding of the topic. Thank you, Mr. Muniz!

Saved my sanity in Cardiology
I am a Paramedic student that was struggling interpreting strips. While covering blocks I almost had a nervous breakdown and left the class thinking I should drop the class and stay an EMT. Saw a sample cartoon about Mobitz 2 and it started to click. It became a reference point for me when I was interpreting strips. The cartoons and the simple way everything was explained in the book saved my grade. I went from failing my first test with a 62, to passing my final with an 88 and finishing the semester with a B. Definitely recommend it.
