Used it to extend the PS5 steering wheel USB cable which plugs in to the back of the unit. This connector worked great along with another usb extension.

Does not work with newer USB C input computer
I have an Epson V850 Pro scanner that has an USB-A male output plug (the kind that plugs into USB ports in most older computers). My newer M2 MacBook Pro only accepts USB-C male connectors. I had an existing USB-A male to USB C male cable so I thought getting this product would allow me to plug the scanner cable to the purchased connector to my existing cable; IT DOES NOT WORK; the computer would not recognize the scanner. I purchased a USB A female to USB C male connector from Apple, so the existing scanner cable plugs into the apple cable which plugs into the computer. IT DOES WORK.
