"The C.A.T. Project" Manual For The Cognitive Behavioral Treatment Of Anxious Adolescents

Great evidence-based resource for working with adolescents with anxiety
The C.A.T. Project is an evidence-based CBT program for adolescents dealing with anxiety. The manual itself walks you through each session, including session goals and tips for helping the session be as effective as possible. It is easy to read and follow and phrases things in a more adolescent-friendly frame (think 11 years and up) than Coping Cat (essentially the same program but for younger children). I have used this with a 5th grader most recently and it helped structure our sessions together. The manual refers constantly to the workbook, which is purchased separately. You really need both together if you are going to use this program. However, it is well worth the cost.

Excellent Resource -- but disappointed in exclusive use of male gendered pronouns!
This manual has been very helpful to me as a new clinician working with anxious youth. I just can't imagine why the author chose to exclusively use male gendered pronouns -- It feels so wrong.

Dated. A rewrite would be great!
Material is good but dated. Re-write for 2024? Greatly welcomed!
