Hunter Rain-Clik sensors have a 5-year warranty!
Here in Florida, by law all automatic landscape irrigation systems must have some type of functioning interruption device during periods of sufficient moisture. Regardless of any legal requirements, these devices will save you money and help reduce depletion of our water supplies. These devices do fail and need to be checked annually and replaced as needed. Our state's agriculture extension service estimates that 70% of homeowner rain sensors are not functioning!I just discovered that Hunter provides a 5-year warranty on both Rain-Clik and Solar-Sync sensors. To test this, I removed a neighbor's failed sensor and took it to my local distributor (irrigation supply store listed on Hunter's web site) and they swapped it out no questions. The store manager just looked at the manufacture date stamped on the bottom to confirm the age and gave me a new one still in the box. This is amazing as the half-life of rain sensors is typically less than 5 years. I regret disposing of my old sensor before finding this out.The Rain-Clik sensor differentiates itself from the competition by having a second quick acting shutoff; located nearest the mounting screw. This opens the circuit to prevent the controller from watering when a light rain first starts to fall (a rains sensor is suppose to keep you from watering during a rain, right?). Expansion and contraction of the hydroscopic disks as they get wet and then dry out is how rain sensors open and close the electrical circuit (i.e. turn the controller off and on). This model allows some rough control of how fast the disks dry by adjusting the size of the air vent opening. With the air vent on the taller tube (which contains the larger slower response disks) fully closed, I find that my rain sensor keeps the controller turned off for about 24 hours after a rain stops.I recommend this Hunter rain sensor because of the addition of a second quick acting shut-down and because of the 5-year warranty.

Instructions need an update for newer controllers
Works as advertised but instructions do not account for an updated Hunter Pro-C controller. The older controllers would have the two Rainclik wires connected to the two sensor terminals. On the NEW Pro-C, the wires connect to SEN-2 and COM. You would either have to search elsewhere for that or connect by trial and error. You can tell if your Pro-C is a newer one by noting the absence of the Bypass Switch. There is a button instead. Otherwise, the unit performs as expected.

Good value
Works with my Hunter sprinkler controller. Easy to connect, and has plenty of wire so I could get it up and clip it to my gutter.

Works with any controller, wire into neutral sprinkler wire, or use RAIN DETECTOR screws
Opens circuit when it rains so sprinkler won't operate for a couple days while the internal absorbent disks dry and shrink - thus closing switch again so normal watering continues.Bracket easily mounted on bottom of rafter end to extend out past bottom of rain gutter, so I didn't have to mount on gutter. I ran wire between small gap in roof deck at rafter junction. Or a small hole can be drilled if controller is inside garage like mine.

Non-functional.
I bought this to use with Rachio smart sprinkler system. Went through a lot of trouble to set it up. Immediately after a activating I started to get alarm after alarm that the sensor is tripped as if it is raining and then not tripped over and over and over again. Returned and got a second one with the exact same problem. Checked with multimeter, both sensors are clearly shorted. Waste of lot of time. No response from company. Wast of my time. Would have given zero starts if possible.
