Samsung 55" TU7100 HDR Smart 4K TV with Tizen OS [Energy Class A+]

Bought 4 of these sets, one for each bedroom and they have all worked great for years now. They do everything right. No issues. A good size for most bedrooms when mounted on the wall.

I purchased this item before reading the reviews. After I'd paid for it and was in the waiting process for it to be delivered, I decided to read some reviews, and seeing how some stated that their item arrived damaged or wasn't of desirable quality, I was apprehensive about the arrival of my item. However, on delivery I took it out of the box, it was wrapped and perfectly protected. I set the television up (50 inch) and I have to admit, that for the price I paid, the quality of this television is absolutely amazing. The picture quality is a massive improvement on the UHD television I was preciously using, and the sound was much better too, even without using my sound bar. The Tizen interface has so far worked well without freezing or glitching, and the operating system is simple enough to navigate. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. The only downfall, which has absolutely no relation to the product or the seller, is that I miscalculated the size of the television so it didn't fit the stand I was going to place it on. Item took awhile to arrive. Was not informed of 1st courier delivery. Appear courier attempt to deliver at 06.00AM to Disabled lady recent move to new borough & manic with most services IT down, lift broken down 6 times already so was in able t go to ketter box to see courier note.Contacted courier & explain Disabled could not manage such early delivery. If can please reschedule from 09.00AM. They took down notes & rebook. Got text coming 10-2.00PM. Arrive after 12 noon. Very package & place in safe place for me.Not had TV over 2 yrs. My son set up for me. But not used until stand with led light fitted up & TV safe to place on it.Too busy to watch TV as much need to sort out. But put on few times to see working.To call Samsung to register with PC to get remote access. But waiting for broadband to set up then other services to notify.Took time out to catch up on much need sleep. Too much issues with New Place. But safe.TV as seen. Look better live. Good value for money. Had several in basket. Most gone before was ready to purchase. But happy with purchase. Got much cheaper than others only price had. So no complaint. Finally gone to 4K on a 65" screen without blowing the bank! Or so I thought…Likes: 4K is wonderful! Great picture, dynamic backlighting really makes a huge difference.Could do better: Only 2 HDMI inputs. (obviously designed for use with AV amplifier)Dislikes: No analogue audio outputs, remote will not control volume of digital outputs.The school day…I had not realised, before it arrived, that these new 'Smart TVs' are really just displays, designed for partnering with a suitable AV amplifier/receiver/ surround processor to do all of the audio processing and video source selection. My old TV has analogue outputs for all the 5.1 channels (and 4 HDMI inputs as well as SCART, component and VGA), but this has no analogue audio outputs (not even a headphone jack) - only HDMI or optical (or bluetooth I guess) and only 2 HDMI inputs for video . So, I was dismayed that effectively I went from a full 800W surround set-up using my Rotel HiFi separates (with several video sources) - to tinny TV sound and nowhere to plug in all but one extra video source. Humph.So, how to do this without shelling out as much again for a 4K UHD AV amp? Actually, there's not really much you can do. So far, I bought an optical > 5.1 extractor (about £27 from Amazon), but the HUGE limitation is that you can't control the volume from the TV remote, and my Rotel amps don't have remotes, so I have to crawl across the room and individually adjust front amp, centre amp & rear amp individually when I want to change the volume. My wife is very underwhelmed, to say the least! She is also totally bemused at how much it (a 4K UHD control amp) will cost 'just to have a volume remote control??'. Also, I am very attached to my Rotel separates, and unless I spend ALOT on a new AV amp, it won't match the Rotels' quality, and an AV preamp with outputs to drive the Rotel main amps costs EVEN MORE than an integrated one! So, after much searching, I found a Yamaha DSP-E800 for £46 off ebay that (I hope) will process the optical correctly and has analogue outputs for all the 5.1 channels. However, the E800 will not process any form of digital video and I'm currently waiting for it to arrive with crossed fingers that it will do the audio decoding I need - although, as a fall-back, it will take the analogue outputs from the extractor that I already bought). And I will need a 4K HDMI switcher.Moral of the story? If you are upgrading to a 4K telly, bank on spending an extra £700++ to upgrade your AV amp as well, and fill a skip with your old setup.Update...The Yamaha arrived but wasn't up to 4K processing.I bought a Marantz NR1506 off ebay (another £270) and that does the job well.

Good quality TV had for couple years gave no problems. Only very minor comment I would have is a bit slow to load apps when turn on. Overall great tv!!

Perfect TV picture is brilliant in 4k I can't comment on sound as I have never used the TV speakers I use a sound bar but the apps are easy to use and locate you can use set-up the TV remote to be a multi media remote that can be used on ps4, xbox one and sound bars (I haven't tried it on the Ps5 or xbox series so can't comment if it works on them) the mobile app is easy to use and if you download the samsung smart things skill on your alexa device you can control the TV through alexa from changing channels, source, volume and turning the TV on and off even though the TV doesn't say it has alexa capability that's a way for it to work the only let down was the TV only has 2 hdmi slots but other than that it's a perfect TV

Great TV, my only complaint is the legs of the stand are set very far apart, we had to get another telly stand to accommodate it, luckily there was one going for free on Facebook market place...bear this in mind if you are going to purchase this TV. Apart from that significant annoyance the telly itself is very good and easy to set up, crystal clear picture and good sound quality. 👌
