UPDATE - Works a charm!
After weeks of trying different solutions, I finally got the device working. In fairness to this product, it was my own fault and not that of the cable. The external psu I was using was powerful enough to boot the device but not to run content. I changed it for a laptop psu and it works absolutely fineBelow is my original review----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I have a Dell C1422H portable monitor. The monitor has 2x USB-C ports that both support Alt Mode DP1.2. I have plugged a power adapter into one port, which does power on the device, and this product into the other port. The outputting video is display port via an RTX 3070 graphics card. The device constantly outputs no signal. If anyone can point out my error I’d be grateful however as far as I can see the cable does not work as intended

Perfect solution - BI-DIRECTIONAL
if you need USB-C to Display port or Display port to USB-C this is the answer. Works flawlessly.

Dosnt work for IMAC
This doesn't work for IMAC , upon putting the cable into my machine it made constant error sounds. It is advertised for Mac's but dosnt seem to support them.I'm using a adapter now which works great so I know it's not my machine

This actually is bi-directional!
Very hard to find cable, at least for this cheap. My use case is connecting a PC with a GPU (rtx4070) to a USB C monitor after the mini HDMI port came loose. I'm not quite ready to try learning how to surface mount solder a HDMI port onto a PCB for the first time on an otherwise working 1440p 144hz monitor, so thought I'd try this first. You will need a separate source of power to connect a USB C monitor to a dedicated GPU if you are trying to do something similar but luckily mine has two USB C ports so no problems there.Of course, the USB C port must also be displayport compatible as well. Check the manual for whatever appliance you intend to plug this into if you want DP output > USB C input. It should work fine as a standard USB C > DP cable too, that's not what I bought it for though. Not sure what the maximum refresh rate is, but my monitor is 144hz@1440p and it has no problem with that

FreeSync through USB-C! (NVIDIA GPU)
I have a 1440p monitor which supports AMD's FreeSync that I'd like to use with my Legion Slim 7 laptop with an RTX 3060. NVIDIA cards specifically require a bi-directional DisplayPort connection to enable G-Sync on FreeeSync/compatible displays (I can confirm HDMI will not work). Unfortunately my laptop (Legion Slim 7) does not have DisplayPort out, but it is able to output directly from the dGPU via DP Alt Mode through USB C.This cable achieved exactly what I wanted and I could enable G-Sync through the NVIDIA Control Panel. I've tested it out on a few games, and I can confirm through my monitor's OSD that FreeSync is working and that the refresh rate is changing.I did encounter a problem where I would experience black flickers. This is apparently is a bug from FreeSync/G-Sync and can happen when you go out of the adaptive sync range, and not the cable or monitor itself (though I did not have this problem with my RX 570). I have taken a few measures which seems to have solved the problem; turning off any unnecessary overlays (Discord, Geforce Experience, MSI Afterburner), expanding my FreeSync range to 30-95 Hz, and capping my framerate to 5 fps below the max refresh rate (so 90 for me).So far I have enjoyed smooth, tear-free gaming. Definitely a good purchase! Just make sure your device/display is compatible.

Excellent. Very hard to find cable, wasnt expecting it to really work but it does!
It's so hard to find a cable that lets you go from Mini Display port output from your pc (NUC in my case) to a USB C input monitor. No idea why theyre so rare, so I honestly didnt expect this to work but it does - very pleased !
