Works, highly recommended
March 28, 2018I had stored some ethanol laced fuel about 6 months and in that time I had bought a new car and was leery about putting the stored gaso in it. I feared there'll be water and metal sediment from the tanks. So I bought a Mr. Funnel...funnel to run the gaso through. Definitely filtered out some visible particles.Important note:Be aware of the gallon per minute flow of the funnel you purchase. I was using 5 gallon tanks to pass fuel to my car. At times the funnel was overwhelmed. I had initially thought it had clogged, but fuel eventually drained though. A bit of back breaking work as holding a full 5 gallon metal gas can in precise inverted orientation to the funnel used alot of fine motor control for about 4 minutes to empty the gas can. And also a bit of leftover gasoline at the bottom of the water trap that can't pass though the filter. It's a good 2-3 ounces .Update: 4-22-18Filled the funnel to the top of the hydrophobic filter mesh and waited for water to come out the other end. I avoided spraying the mesh directly. No trickle of water came out, BUT I took off the extension and found some water droplets in there. The filter held back a majority of the water so that's good. Nothing a little STA-BIL couldn't take care off.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FILTER FUNNEL COMBO(and STA-BIL😒). This was a stress test and pure water was added to the funnel to see if it was readily water permeable, 98% effective. In real life you wouldn't encounter such a thing..., unless someone is out to get you.

How does it do that????
I purchased the smallest funnel, the F1. It's listed as 3.5" wide and 6" tall with a gpm flow capacity of 2.7 gallons. The very first thing I did upon receiving it was to dump some water in the funnel, hold it up, and wait. Nothing passed, not even one drop! I dumped that out and blew on it backwards and it flowed air like an open funnel. Satisfied that it indeed was going to do something magic, I poured the first can of tainted gas through it and it worked magnificent! I then went around the property to gather up several other canisters I had dedicated to tainted or dirty gas as well, processing each one into usable gas again. Before owning this funnel I would have taken all the cans to my local hazmat collection site whereas now I waste absolutely no fuel! I am totally delighted and now keep this funnel in a special, secret place where it cannot be snitched or develop legs! I love this funnel so much I do not want to lose or misplace it! (Things have a way of walking off or developing legs on my small farm)The flow rate of 2.7 gallons is enough to do anything I want and now I use it every time I put gas in a vehicle on the farm! I know that if gas sits in any tank around here for long, condensation develops in the tank and over winter especially, I can filter out as much as a half cup of water from even the small 1.5gal tank on my rider mower! No more fussing to get motors started, no more faltering, intermittent running engines that lose power when you are way down in the back field and die on you at the worst time! Get this funnel and you to will get just as excited!

Pretty good but not perfect....
This is a nice filter for adding gasoline to your equipment. However, it is not GREAT. The bottom of the filter is location approx. 1" above the bottom of the funnel. So the last inch of gasoline your into your Mr. Funnel does not get filtered. You MUST pour this volume of gasoline (approx. 1/2 cup) back into your gas can. This is not really easy to do because of the lack of directional pouring spout. So you need another funnel to pour the remaining gasoline out of Mr. Funnel or you end up with a mess of gasoline all over your gas can, equipment and maybe yourself. Not the kind of mess I like to have around my house or my shed. The filter DOES work to filter the water and debris out of your gasoline. Your equipment does receive clean water-less gasoline. This is nice and reduces maintenance problems down the road. I just wish the manufacturer's design engineers would have actually used the device and created a safe way to dispose of the unfiltered gasoline that is left in the funnel.
