Imperial IMP14 Small Stockman Stainless Steel Folding Pocket Knife for Outdoor, Outdoor Survival and EDC

Just the size I was looking for. Excellent quality!

This is a classic slip joint pattern, a small stockman knife. The description says all you need to know regarding size and whatnot. It baffles me reading reviews where people complain that the knife is too small or doesn’t have a lock. What is wrong with people? I have no idea why people don’t read descriptions carefully prior to purchasing. The vast majority of slip joint knives don’t have locks. This knife is as advertised. It’s just a bit smaller than a Case Peanut pattern. I like small knives a lot. I’m not a farmer or rancher, so I really don’t need a large knife. This knife would make a good edc for those in urban environments. Most tasks can be accomplished with this small Imperial. People just like brandishing a large blade for no real reason. I guess that doing so makes them feel special or tough. My Grandpa carried a knife such as this for decades and had no need for tacticool knives. This Imperial is well-built, sturdy, and all three blades arrived sharp enough to slice through paper cleanly and easily. The pull on the blades is about a four, not too hard to pull out and not too easy. Just right. And the blades have decent snap. The blades don’t open as smoothly as a Case knife, but this knife only cost me $8, whereas my Case small stockman cost me $45. A little oil might help my blades operate more smoothly. Fit and finish on this knife is decent. Not fantastic but as expected. There are small gaps between the springs and liners if I hold it up to sunlight, but nothing that I would notice in handling the knife. The transition from the faux mother of pearl covers to the bolsters is surprisingly smooth. The blades aren’t super shiny or flashy. They are ground and sharpened well for the price. If you are someone who is nit picky about details and expect a perfect knife, then you should check out knives made by Case or Great Eastern Cutlery. What it boils down to is that this Imperial is more than adequate for pocket carry. It will cut well and will not be a burden in the pocket. And, it looks rather nice. I like it!

I have purchased quite a few of Schrader Imperial and Old Timer knives.Overall good knives except recent issues with this small stockman in that the pins are inserted too close to the end of the scales and not seated all the way. Looking at the underside of the knife you can see daylight between the stainless steel layers. Maybe these are just from a bad lot.Also the type of adhesive used on the Logo badges needs improvement. Other than that Schrader makes a good product.

This is a sweet little pocket knife, perfect for tucking away in your jeans or vest or skirt. It’s not too big or bulky, yet you know it’s there if you need it. Reminds much of the knife my dad used to keep in his pocket for all life’s little emergencies.

When the little Swiss Army Knife isn't quite enough, this is a very useful pocket knife. Smaill enough for carrying in your pocket effortlessly but still enough knife for most utility work you will need.

Nice little knife for the price

I have carried a Schrade knife before I was in school. Never with out and Old Timer. Now in my advancing years I do not need a large knife. This one is the perfect size for me now.

The product is much smaller than the picture leads you to believe.
