The Bash is one solid sledgehammer
I liked my Wilton Sledgehammer as it performed exceptional, so I purchased their hammers in other weights. The handles are incredible smooth to handle and absorb some of the hammering impact. Since the handles aren't made from wood, they won't warp or split over time. The steel heads are strong and haven't cracks or chipped to date. I've been using them in an open pit agate mine wherein I've been removing large rocks by splitting them with hammer and chisel. These are by far the best hammers I've ever used.I've read other reviews stating that the balance was off on certain hammers, but the real issue is: take care in selecting the appropriate hammer-head weigh versus the handle length for your applications and your own arm strength. If you use those parameters in selecting your sledgehammer, you will find the right item.I have not been paid by Amazon or Wilton to review these items favorably. I love this product line and will order other weights in the near future. They are expensive compared to other sledgehammers, but worth the price based on their superb quality and balance. Buying cheap is more expensive long-term, and quality tools outperform there cheaper counterparts in many instances.

A hammer fit for a God
For years the High Striker game at the state fair in my hometown has been plaguing me. The hammers that they give you to ring that bell were just too weak and flimsy. It seemed like every time I tried to put all my strength into the swing, the wooden handle would shatter upon impact and the head would fly off and injure unsuspecting bystanders (sometimes fatally). But this time I have the Wilton BASH sledgehammer in my arsenal. With its steel-core shaft and anti-vibe neck, I no longer have a problems with the handle splitting like a chicken bone anymore. Plus, in the extremely unlikely event that the head just so happens to fly off, its green hi-vis head will insure that onlookers will be able to more quickly react and retreat to cover. Thus saving me the headache of more lawsuits. This hammer pretty much pays for itself. I have so many giant Rasta banana plush dolls now, that my 5 year old daughter has to sleep on the couch because there's no more extra rooms in the house. I don't think of it as being neglectful. I see it as a learning experience for her that the world isn't always fair and you have to make sacrifices. Who knew a sledge hammer could even be a parenting aid! This hammer is fit for Thor: the God of Thunder himself. Thanks Wilton Tool Group!!

Flawless, incredibly durable
So well made, took my misses really well. Took apart a whole 100 yr old oak with this bad boy and some wedges. Not a single bit of wear or tear on it other than scratches of course.

Wilton Sledge Review
Overall this is a quality tool. I have used it several times and it works great. The handle seems bullet proof and minimizes shock well. The color is distinctive. The steel used seems to be hardened enough to minimize deformation at the faces. One criticism I have with these types of tools is that when you put it down with the handle up it always falls over. This seems like a problem that is easily fixed.
