Q: Do these work for mounting on carpet???

Yes they would work on carpet. The thing that you have to consider is the thickness of the carpet and if the door will clear/slide at the bottom with the bracket on the carpet. You might have to cut the carpet out right where the bracket goes. That would be better than cutting off the bottom of the door!

Q: Do these scratch the door?

They will only scratch if there is angled pressure against the door when it is moving. But, they are very smooth, and may still take a month or two of abuse before being noticeable. There are other methods to prevent this 100%.. say by edging the base of the Door with a kick plate. Using Brass, this can be very attractive (but more $).

Q: Can I use one guide per door so that it doesn’t slide off of the guide when opening and closing?

yes, you need to have one that is at the for right under the door when the door is open and then when the door slides closed it is to the far left.
