Designed to give extra confidence to those new to sailing or learning new skills mast head floats can help reduce the risk of boats inverting during a capsize. Available in 9 or 40 litres of buoyancy the Crewsaver Mast Floats have a heavy-duty fabric construction to ensure they work to their optimum all season long. Designed in conjunction with sailing centres in both the UK and abroad Only effective when correct buoyancy float is fitted - owners are responsible Not suitable for boats without a secure fixing point Please remember: Crewsaver Mast Floats do not guarantee to stop a boat inverting and their performance can be hindered by the conditions. Such conditions include a strong tide wind swell or incorrect righting procedure

It's big.
It's big. Too big for a sunfish in my opinion. I would like a smaller one but the only one I can find I feel is too small.

It works for my catamaran
I have a hurricane grabner cat, and this mast float will prevent it from going "belly up". However, the instructions say to secure both ends, but there is only one securing ring on the top. I'd like it if there was one on the bottom, to keep it in place. Otherwise perfect, sturdy, easy to inflate.

Easy to use, lightweight, well made.
Currently sailing a Melges MC16 and Y Flyer sailboats. Both of these boat are easy to recover if a capsize occurs but even under the best conditions sometimes they will turtle ie. invert. Received Friday and used it on Saturday easily attaches to your main sail shackle. Does not interfere with the sail or operation very pleased. Have not tested in a capsized situation but I feel better knowing having 85-88lbs of buoyancy at the end of the mast.
