I wish now that I could have been there but this is probably the next best thing. I bought the video expecting it to be good but I was shocked at just how good it was. The video kicks of with interviews from four of the band, (Glenn Frey did not get interviewed). They talk about why they decided to get back together and how they get on much better now, more mature etc, then comes the show. The first track "Hotel California" is their biggest selling song, but instead of being the original hardrock version they mellowed it and did an accoustic version which is really different and brilliant. The guitar solos are superb, with Don Felder and Joe Walsh working together perfectly. "Tequila Sunrise" and "Help Me Make It Through The Night" are also accoustic versions. "The Heart Of The Matter" is a song from Don Henley's solo career and is very well done with superb vocal harmonies. "Love Will Keep Us Alive" sung by Timothy B Schmitt and "Learn To Be Still" are both new songs which received their debut and are extremely good. Part two kicks of with "Pretty Maids All In A Row" sung by Joe Walsh, then another debut "The Girl From Yesterday". "Wasted Time" shows of Henley's vocals to perfection, then for me the highlight "I Can't Tell You Why" with a brilliant guitar solo from now fired member Don Felder and outstanding vocals from TBS. "New York Minute" is also a Henley solo song, and for me shows exactly how good a bassist TBS is. After that it's "The Last Resort" from the "Hotel California" album, then it's back to rock n' roll with "Take It Easy" their very first big hit."Life In The Fast Lane" and "In The City" are both rockers, as is the forth and final debut song "Get Over It". The set ends with "Desperado" one of their oldest songs and still a timeless classic. I also have to add that they were accompanied by a full orchesta during most of their songs, something I did not expect to see but definately worked well. The harmonies are spot-on throughout the show and raised the hair on the back of my neck. There are even out-takes including Henley messing up the vocals on "Learn To Be Still" just as he predicted. I have to admit I am a big fan and I really enjoyed it. Definately one to add to your collection.

Many hours of nostalgia

Apart from the 'silly' menu configuration and the fact that I get no audio?? when playing it on the PC (works fine in my stand-alone Yamada DVD 6100), the content is incredible.It's worth the money for the 'sit down' accoustic version of Hotel California alone.A quick review...The RehearsalThey don't add any instruments till the LIVE harmonies are perfect.This attention to LIVE perfection is continued throughout, notably when trying to get the Burbank Symphony Orchestra to put a bit more of a 'bluesy' feel into their string arrangement.The SetTequila Sunrise... stunning performanceThe Heart Of The Matter, Wasted Time and New York Minute make the goosebumps rise with the incredible emotion of the vocals.Life in the Fast lane... is somehow impossibly better than the studio version.I Cant Tell You Why... Timothy's vocals make you want to cry.Get Over It... just rocks....plus a load of new material.Ending with a definitive version of 'Desperado' no Eagles fan can afford not to own this DVD.The gig opens with one of the all time memorable rock quotes..."We never split up... we just took a fourteen year vacation"TRUE

This Dvd was recommended my a keyboard player in Driffield about 15 years ago. He said that as a production showing great musicians playing their instruments, it was hard to beat. I totally agree!Good balance of interviews and background, then on with the music. The first half of the actual gig does drag on a bit with the MOR music, bit it's worth it in the end, as things liven up alot.

Great video !I listen to it with lights low & candles burning - I find this album so relaxing & the fact that it’s live & so professional is awesome! Kick back , chill out & tune in.

What can I say......I LOVE THE EAGLES.My favourite band by far as is the DVD.My friend and I have been known to watch the DVD 7times in one night!!! Recently went to see them in Birmingham and they were phenomenal.
