Got what I was searching for
Needed a smaller black modern bracket to fit on the beam and this was Perfect. 1st pic is the old used one.

Product is not consistent
Distance between the holes varies. I purchased two and both are different. For the purpose intended are ok, but if you want consistency look you may not get it. My intentions were to install this canopy first and then install the new light that came with a very small canopy.

No Mounting Hardware, Poor Design
We purchased this to replace the original plate for a pendant light, which was too small. It comes with no hardware to mount the plate to the gang box and the hardware to attach the plate to the base is the exact spacing of a traditional gang box, so it's impossible to install to the gang box. We tossed the screws/bracket it came with and used material we had leftover from other DIY projects, but you'll probably have to purchase them if you're dealing with the same situation. Overall, it fits now and looks better than the too-small plate, but it was a struggle.

The plastic it was packaged in left a film on the plate.
The plastic it was packaged in left a film on the plate, when I tried to wash it off it took off the finish. I was very disappointed with this purchase. Both plates were left with marks from the plastic.

Is this a joke??
What on earth? My canopy mount came with only ONE HOLE and that's the center hole that you feed the wiring through. There were no other holes to attach the canopy to the box. Like, did someone there not notice there were obvious missing holes? Unusable.UPDATE: so, thinking that was just a fluke, I re-ordered another one. Guess what? the next one came exactly the same: only one hole for the cord to slip through but no other holes to attach to the box, rendering this thing useless and false advertising.
