Rare Contemporary Flashlight with Mechanical Switch
I've been in search for an inexpensive flashlight without parasitic drain. It seems the vast majority of manufacturers have moved onto electronic switches for the features and convenience that come associated with them. The downside of e-switches is the fact the battery will slowly drain over time, because the circuit is always closed.TX11 appears to be one of the few remaining flashlights on the market that are still manufactured with a mechanical switch. I took a multimeter to the tailcap for continuity test, and I can confirm that the switch goes into open circuit when it is in off position. This means you can store the flashlight with batteries in it for a long period of time without having to worry about parasitic draw. Obviously there will still be concerns for battery self-discharge, but that has nothing to do with the flashlight itself. The mechanical switch does come without perks that e-switches offer. For one, TX11 doesn't have USB recharging option. Secondly, it doesn't have functionality where you can press on the side switch for instant strobe modes that other "tactical" flashlights with e-switches have. The side switch on TX11 is purely for mode toggle when the flashlight is on. It does nothing when the unit is not powered on.Output is decent for its size and class. The tail switch is a forward clicky, and requires firm, but not hard, pressure to activate. The side switch appears to be an e-switch which, as stated above, does nothing without power from the tail switch. It has dual battery springs, with one at the head and another at the tailcap, so there is some recoil mitigation should you decide to mount it using a 1" flashlight mount. I haven't disassembled the head to see if the internals are potted for additional impact mitigation, but it shouldn't have trouble handling recoils from small-caliber rifles. There is a very slight delay when powering on the flashlight, most likely from the driver figuring out the battery voltage input, since the mechanical switch means there's no constant current running to the driver to provide such input. It does have mode memory, so when you turn it off and turn it back on, it will revert to the last used mode. The mode memory also applies to the strobe mode, so if you turn off the flashlight while it was last used in strobe, you'll get disco lights the next time you turn it on.All in all, the TX11 is a pretty good flashlight, and one of the better choices if you're specifically looking for one with old school mechanical switch. The size, weight and UI reminds me of the first-generation Thrunite TN12 that had mechanical switch.

Extremely amazing light.
I have purchased SEVERAL flashlights off Amazon for Law Enforcement use, hoping for a cheaper option than streamlights. and have been let down EVERY time. I almost passed this one up as it was not rechargeable, but I'm very happy that I did not. This light is BRIGHT, and the selector button is a great idea instead of having to click the power button several times to select a mode. This did NOT come with batteries, but I suggest picking up a pack of Streamlight 85177 CR123A batteries for it.The case for the light is cheap, but somewhat durable. It has a button snap for the belt strap that seems to always unclick when I need to go hands on, so ill be replacing it with a leather or high quality nylon holster for my belt.Update:The holster has an aditional strap under the button strap that will not unclick as it does not have a snap.I was afraid my light died, as it would not turn on. I found that the head of the light had turned 1/4 inch, and disabled the battery connection. Giving it a small twist corrected the problem. The light is made to also be disassembled this way, so it is NOT a flaw. The light seems to go through batteries VERY fast, mainly due to me keeping the light on TURBO mode. I've been trying to keep it on Medium and High and it seems to improve the battery life quite a bit. I just keep extra batteries in my glovebox, and an extra set on my belt.

Great flashlight for the 2 weeks it worked
Not sure if I got a faulty product or it's just a terrible flashlight, but I got it and it worked fine for 2 weeks before stopping to work. I don't know why it doesn't work now but I measured 0.1V across the LED, I think that it might have died.Overall I'm returning it and will think about getting a replacement from the same seller. Too bad, I liked it while it was working.

Amazing flashlight. The best I ever had so far.
I love it. I used Duracell CR123 battery and it worked awesome. I have yet to try rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery. I am trying to choose the right one. I am considering getting Nitecore D2 smart battery Charger with LCD display.click here https://www.amazon.com/Nitecore-D2-Rechargeable-EdisonBright-rechargeable/dp/B00RW4RTTC/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1475763206&sr=8-9&keywords=18650+battery+and+chargerI am pretty sure with this rechargeable batteries, it will be awesome plus save money. I recommend this flashlight for top quality flashlight. when the flash light is turned on, you can press the top button up to 4 times for brighten the light. It's really 5 times but when you press it, it's up to 4 times. 1 = dim light, 2 = dim bright light, 3 = bright light, 4 = brighter light, 5 = brightest light. The Brightest light is insanely bright. The distance of that bright light is amazing. But be careful though, when using the brightest light for too long, it gets really warm. If I were you, I would only use the brightest light only if necessary if you can't see from the distance or whatever. Oh and you can do strobe lights. I am sure you already researched this flashlight but man this strobe light is amazing.. hold it down for 2 seconds and it starts to strobe. If you use this light, use it wisely and carefully. Plus, don't ever use this around the police cuz you never know they will feel threaten by the brightness. Think of this as playing Battlefield 3 multiplayer when a player using a bright light to blind it's enemy while in a gunfight. So please be careful when using this light but overall, I give it 5 stars because it is amazing. I just hope one day battery life can last longer and doesn't warm up the whole flashlight after 1 min or so.
