All the Hype is Totally Justified
I read all the amazing reviews, saw the youtube videos, thought I would try one. It is in fact the best reel out there for the money, or for any amount of money for that matter. Great reel, I don't need to say much more, other reviews go into the detail, I'll just collaborate that all the talk is right. I plan on getting one in every size.UPDATE: I've had the reel a few months now and it is holding up amazing. I have it spooled up with 80lb braid, and I've landed a few big 100lb plus fish on so far, no problems whatsoever. I added some pictures for size also.

4 purchased since 2016
Let me just say, I have purchased a total of 4 BG8000 since 2016 and they are very reliable fishing reels. With basic maintenance , never encountered any issues. I know there are lots of spinning reels out there but for me, Daiwa BG provides the best value at this price point. It’s a very durable reel, casts very well, and is smooth. I have a Shimano that costs lot more but BG is my go to reel .I remember my dad bought me a first Daiwa reel back in the 80s, and the reel lasted for almost 40 years. I replaced it with BG Daiwa and hopefully it will last for many years to come

Cranking in Crab Snares alright
I'm fairly new to crab snaring, couple years in. This reel is one of my newer ones and is doing the job. I can imagine an improvement in crank strength, however. So far it's smooth and carries a good excess of my braided 65 lb test line. Casting is good.Handle's a good fit for my hand, not too small or large, and comfortable grip.First season in and no issues, solid reel.

The best reel for price point. Super smooth drag and strong 33lbs for larger fish. Holds a y
The best reel for the price. The newer mq model twice the cost. Yet not much better. Super smooth 33lbs. Of drag great for larger fish. A little on heavy side but worth the extra weight. Tarpon, shark even pretty good size tuna will be no problem. AAA+

Great reel at a great price
Just got back from a florida fishing trip and these worked great! Loaded the reel with 65lb braid and the drag worked great for how much work it did. We had fish scream the drag with no issues and it was very consistent. For the price it's hard to beat. My only complaint is there isn't a hook to stow your line on the spool. It's also a heavy reel, but for the size it's to be expected.

Excellent Reel from Daiwa
Excellent reel quality - although Made in China - used for fishing in the sea, can pull big sharks (released) 8ft to 10 ft long using 80 lbs braid lines with 120 lbs leader; always washed after use and maintains regularly so that the salt will not corrode the inner parts; a bit heavy though!
