Durable; happy with the purchase. I leave the silicone handle on the Lodge cast iron pot when cooking on an electric stove (but not in the oven) and have not had a problem. I use a bottle brush and soap water to clean the inside every several days; dishwasher cleans the outside but can't clean the inside. If the pot is still very hot, and I'm carrying the pot for longer than between the stove and the sink counter, I may still need oven mitts, but usually the silicone handle is sufficient. I think it's worth paying for the Lodge brand after reading the reviews for the generic versions -- for one of the generics, someone reported that it crumbled even though the Lodge silicone handle was fine.

We are using this handle holder with Victoria 12-Inch Cast Iron Comal Pizza Pan sold here on Amazon. It's a great combination. The fit is perfect. As far as heating, the handle stays very comfortable to the touch despite leaving it in place while stovetop cooking with gas.

It was a little loose on the handle of my pan (the only reason I gave it 4 stars), but that could just be my pan. It protects very well and beats me spending time building up scar tissue...

This thing really helps a lot moving that big cast iron pan around. I'm a bit of a mess in the kitchen, go figure, and this saves my hands. Great grip, quality, easy to clean. Can't go wrong.

These are a life saver. Definitely good quality and does what its supposed to do.

I bought the Lodge silicone grip thinking that it would fit well on my Lodge 12" skillet, but it is quite loose. I'm not worried that it is going to come off, but it feels sloppy.The first time I used it, I noticed smoke coming from the grip even though it was not in the flames. I looked closely and was surprised to see that it was burning. I have to be careful to place it far away from the flames to avoid further scorching and melting. I'm disappointed that the brand-new grip is already burned, although it is still functional, since I quickly noticed it smoking.I bought the orange version for visibility. It looks fine and feels durable, but it is a bit oversized. Given how easy it is to remove, it should be easy to clean in the dishwasher. Given its poor fitment and its susceptibility to burning, I think I would get the cheap Amazon branded silicone grip for a better value for the money if I had to purchase another one.I have always valued Lodge products for their excellent made in the USA quality for very reasonable prices. However, all in all, I'm disappointed in the quality of this silicone grip considering that it is a Lodge product.
