I would try some Teflon tape. If that does not work, replace it with a new one.

No you connect this just like a co2 regulator, the compression seals when tightened. The co2 side has a o ring on the adapter that can be preplaced I have a genie hoist that I use this for, no more changing smaller co2 tanks. Works very well.
