It’s what the pros use!
I often watch a YouTube channel Wristwatch Revival” and that craftsman (of the highest caliber) uses one of these bases so as I embark upon my own journey in watch repair work, it was one of my first purchases. It works like a charm.

Does what it needs to
The construction is minimal and the metal ring isn’t fastened on, causing it to slip off and the little leather surface comes apart from the cushion. But, this is a very cheap object so my expectations weren’t sky high.

You get what you pay for
Its Cheap, the leather pad is nice. The plastic chrome ring fell off after one use. It still works, just need to glue the plastic ring back on the base.

Nice cushion for under microscope
You sort of need something like this if you're doing watchwork under a microscope. It's firm enough to hold the work, and soft enough not to damage it. Price from Bergeon is about 10x this one, and I can't see any significant difference.

Not worth buying
Tiny and comes out of the "metal" plastic surround frequently. Not a good product. A cheap one came with a watch repair kit I bought and was significantly larger and higher quality. I'm giving it 2 stars because I should have read the size and reviews more closely, otherwise it would be 1.

Works very well.
Excellent for intended purpose. Cover has just the right degree of "stickiness" to hold case in place.
