Not all string lights are created equal
Not all string lights are created equal. If one desires a 4-season outdoor product it, must be weather and water proof to hold up to the elements. The Brightech Ambience Pro Waterproof LED Outdoor String Lights, 48 Ft, Hanging, Dimmable Vintage Edison Bulbs, 15 Bulbs, 2W is an outstanding product that is an ideal choice! Its affordable, durable, attractive, and a very easy to install product.I paired the string lights with a TP Link outdoor smart plug and linked it with the Alexa app and control all my outdoor lights within a group. I can also control the brightness of the included bulbs at 25%, 50%, 75, % or 100% depending on the desired ambiance of the occasion. Lastly, colored bulbs are widely available to substitute for special occasions. Great choice for outdoor string light needs!

Great...but very bright.
A lot of products throw around the terms "pro" and "commercial grade", but these LED lights really seem built to last. Right out of the box, you can feel their weight, all covered by a rubberized surface that will withstand the elements. The packaging is no fuss - a 48-foot strand coil, a box of 15 individually-wrapped and -boxed LED bulbs, and a simple instruction sheet. To be honest, they are pretty much plug in and go, but there are some things worth considering:1) The strand is 48-feet long with 15 lights. This means there is a 3-foot spacing between each bulb, as well as 3 feet at the start and end of the strand. It's worthwhile considering, since if you connect multiple strands (which you can do since the end has a female receptacle), you will have a 6-foot gap. If you're a detail-oriented planner, you'd want to take that into consideration.2) The strand has a 2-prong plug (i.e., no ground wire). This means that it is adaptable to most extension cords, but you will want to take into account other items you may want to connect, like dimmers and remotes.3) The LEDs are made of "durable glass", and I'd believe it. The glass even feels a bit soft to withstand bumps and knocks, but is crystal clear. Since these are vintage-style LEDs, the yellow LED "filaments" are quite visible during the daytime, but still look attractive.4) It is recommended that the strand be hung by 16-gauge wire or cable, or mounted with hooks. Given the weight, don't skimp on cheap mounting options, as you will want to do this the right way. I mounted the cord above my pergola with wrap-around cable clips and stainless screws (really taking the time to protect the cord), allowing the bulbs to hang between the slats.5) Most importantly, it should be noted that these lights are very bright. Mind you, as I just mentioned, I mounted mine on a pergola, which picks up the lighting much more than, say, an open-air application. However, as standard, they cast a lot of light. Since they are dimmable, I highly recommend an outdoor dimmer. I purchased a SUNYE Max Power 200W Waterproof Outdoor String Lights Wireless Remote Control, 150Feet Range, Memory, Stepless Dimming, IP68 WATERPROOF.UL 3 Pin Plug Remote Control Dimmer (ONLY FOR LED DIMMABLE BULB) outdoor dimmer, and that was the best decision. I've included two photos at the maximum (100%) and minimum (<25%) settings. The minimum setting is what I use nearly all the time as it's a nice glow (but still bright). If I have dinner parties, I use brighter settings, but even 50% is far too bright for most applications. Without a dimmer, I don't know if I could use these lights.6) I also purchased a Z-Wave outdoor module GE Z-Wave Wireless Smart Lighting Control Outdoor Module, On/Off, Plug-In, Black, Hub Required, 12720, Works with Alexa, a weatherproof receptacle cover Taymac MX3300 One Gang Horizontal In Use Metal Weatherproof Receptacle Cover and extension cord connector covers Cordsafe Extension Cord Connector with Water-Resistant Seal (Orange) for Cord Management to properly weatherproof the set-up. We've had a couple of torrential downpours and windstorms, and the lights have withstood them all without fail.I expect to have years of use from these lights, so would definitely recommend them and buy again.

Very well built
Bought the much longer set a year ago and wanted a matched set for the other side of our yard. This strand is perfect. Pair it with a Kasa outdoor dimmer plug and you can easily control the light brightness. The cord is well suited to survive the elements and the bulbs are durable. Really great lights for the deck or patio.

Perfect String Lights for Any Outdoor Space
These string lights are absolutely perfect for our deck and patio. We’re using a Wyze dimmable smart timer with them (Wyze brand), and it works flawlessly. I highly recommend Wyze smart timers as well. These lights have been outside for over a month now, enduring wind and heavy rain, and they’ve held up beautifully. The warm light is really pleasing—bright enough to see clearly, but also dimmable for the perfect ambiance. Such good quality for the cost. Highly recommend!

Bulbs are glass
Beautiful lights, heavy duty wire, but disappointed that the bulbs are glass instead of plastic. They break EASILY, especially during set up and tear down!

Bright & Beautiful
Love these lights. Strung them up in my cabin along the beams for better lighting. Use with the dimmer they sale! I'm so happy!

Perfect for the pergola
As written in other reviews, these seem to be built to last. The wiring is heavy and the sockets appear to be made of brass (I'll know as time passes.) The string is heavy enough that you'll need to use the holes molded into the vinyl above each socket to place a hanger (I used stainless steel screws to attach each socket to the wooden structure.) This string includes seven 2-watt LED bulbs that feel and look like glass (some LED bulbs are plastic.) Since I had no familiarity with the brightness of LED bulbs of this size, I took a chance on the seven light set, figuring I could buy another if it wasn't bright enough. The string has a plug on one end and a receptacle on the other, so they could be easily joined together. I purchased them to provide ambient light under a 10 x 14 pergola. I was not looking to cast enough light to read by; rather, just some mood lighting. I installed an LED dimmer switch in weatherproof electrical hardware just in case they would be too bright. I strung the lights on the front of the pergola (five along the front joist and one on each side joist.) Since I didn't know what to expect, I was surprised to see that the lights cast just the amount of light I wanted when full on -- not too bright and not too dim.One caveat: With this particular seven-light set, there is about three feet of wire between each light and from the last light on either end and the plug or receptacle. This means that if you connect a second set to the first, you'll have to deal with about six feet of wire between the first lights in the two connected strings. Ideally, the strings could be designed so that this length of wire would be the same as between any two lights in a string (about three feet.) I found the three-foot distance between lights a bit long, so I had to tack the wire between the lights higher on the pergola than the light sockets.Overall, I think you'll be pleased.
