best smoker hands down.
Easy to use and very powerful. the smoke it provides is thick and just a little goes a long way. Great for smoked drinks and to give anything an extra zing.

The best smoker
Best smoker we purchased. We tried 2 other brands previously and none compared to this one. We bought this because we saw a local distillery using it and now we no longer need to search for the best smoker.

Great Quality and Easy to Use
I purchased this smoker as it was rated #1 by the American test Kitchen. It is made of excellent quality, and we use it a lot for making cocktails, like and old fashion with cherry smoke infused It adds another layer to the taste of the cocktail and gives It a wow factor when making these at a party. Our guests are fascinated with the process. I highly recommend this product. It delivers perfect smoke and is very easy to use.

Smoking drinks and cheese
I bought the PolyScience Breville Gun Pro Smoke Infuser for my husband to smoke his old fashions and for me to smoke cheese. It works exceptionally well for both purposes. The smoker is effective and easy to use. However, I do wish it came with a more detailed manual. Understanding the various levels and how they affect different items would be helpful. It starts on the max setting, but more guidance on the appropriate settings for different smoking tasks would be beneficial. One surprise was the lack of a heat source, which I initially thought it had. Despite this, it does its job well, it’s extremely easy to use and has been a great addition to our kitchen gadgets.

Smokin'!
I've bought three of these so far, one for me and two as gifts for friends. I use this both in the kitchen, for, say, smoking cheese under a cloche, or a pizza we're cooking in the toaster oven; and at the bar, for smoking cocktails. Make sure you read the instructions on getting it started, as it needs to be on HIGH when you first light it, and then quickly turned down to LOW when smoking. But it's pretty easy (and fun!) to use.

Works if you trust other consumers on youtube more than the instructions
The unit was promised in stock with 2 day delivery. It is Thursday ie 4 days later when the unit arrives. I guess no one keeps their word any more. Of note, this company elected to use AMAZON delivery which is currently grossly incompetent. That....does not however detract from the rating of the item, but needs to be born in mind if for example the item is supposedly a gift for someone else. This unit is very difficult to light. I ended up lighting a tea candle first then repeatedly taking flame from the candle to the unit using a wooden skewer. There was no desiccant pack added to the wood slivers when there should have been so that these would stay DRY. Put the wood slivers on a saucer and spray them with a spray or two of cooking oil. Dont get them soaking but just with some fuel on them to burn that is not damp wood slivers. Put the wood slivers in the appropriate place in the unit. The instructions say to only cover the mesh in the reservoir with the wood slivers. When I did as instructed, the unit did not work. A friend looked up what others were doing and they were filling the reservoir 1/2 to totally full. The wood slivers are not packed down but loosely added so that there are air pockets between the tiny wood pieces. If you use as little wood as the instructions say, then the wood is burned very quickly and essentially NO smoke goes down the hose and into your food. After you fill the wooden reservoir, wash and dry your hands. NEVER light a flame with any type of oil on your hands as it could ignite. You will need long wooden skewers OR a long lighter. DO NOT try to light this unit with simple matches. You could, but why do it this way when long wooden skewers or a long lighter are safer. Of those two methods I would suggest using a long lighter because then you dont have a flaming wooden skewer involved.I strongly suggest plastic wrap over the food and / or to have the food in some storage container. I placed the food in the bottom of a container with a click lock type lid AND covered the food with plastic wrap. You will be blowing smoke under the plastic wrap and then covering the click lock container with its lid and clicking it closed and sealed. This does generate a good deal of smoke if you use 1/2 to 1 times the reservoir area of wood slivers. Though it is said that you can do this in the house, I STRONGLY suggest you do this outside. Step out of your door for a moment and use this item. THINK carefully as to what you are standing on. IF smoldering ask gets blown from the unit if you overfilled it, it would be bad if a wooden deck is beneath your feet. Dont overfill the reservoir and dont stand on a wooden surface to do this.So your outside and your unit is lit. Smoke your food. Click that closed and carry it inside IMMEDIATELY. You dont need to attract animals to your smoked meat. After about 10 minutes, put it in the fridge unless your planning to use it right away. Remember food safety so dont leave meat out to go bad.Remind your children that this item is to be used only with permission and adult DIRECT supervision. Since you will be working with flame, this is a good time to double check that your fire safety equipment is up to date.I lit the smoke gun in the house. IF you put enough fuel in the reservoir it actually does make a great deal of smoke. It was not enough where anyone was coughing or having to leave the room and did not set off the smoke alarms. I did turn on my oven fan. Using it outdoors works MUCH better but ...if the weather is awful out there you could work with it right under your stove hood. I suggest you turn your stove hood on high. IF your fire alarm detectors are smoke based as opposed to heat based, you may consider disabling the one in the kitchen WHILE you smoke the food HOWEVER you MUST remember to turn your smoke detector back on afterwards. Use your judgement. If your smoke alarm goes off every time you fry something, then it will need to be disabled. If you cook dinner, fry foods, boil water with steam coming out of the pot with no problem from your smoke alarms, you are likely to be fine re your smoke alarm system if your stove hood fan is on high and you are under it.This unit emits smoke. If anyone in the home has asthma or COPD and they have trouble being around cigarette smoke, campfire smoke etc, do NOT use this with that person in the room. The motor on the unit could be a bit stronger as much of the smoke comes out of the top of the hopper as opposed to down the hose, but ... you dont want the motor SO strong that it blows the flame out.I am upgrading my review from a 1 based on using the instructions to a 4 based on imitating other you tube users. The unit does what it says it will do....albeit with problems with instructions and damp wood slivers.

Just buy it!
As a fairly skilled amateur chef, I need a smoking gun in my life. I had another Amazon product for close to the same price and it died after a year. Thought I was going to have to pay $200-$300 for a high quality version. Stumbled across this baby and just damn. Pro grade heavy and sturdy unit from a trusted brand that blows smoke like a used car salesman. $110 bucks on sale. A unit that costs any more is a rip off. Long story short, just buy it, even at full price! You will not be disappointed
